Like others are saying the limit 12 kind of sucks but as you grow your character I kind of expected there was going to be quests or once you get to certain rank/level you have more accessory point limit...
Every time I flash my subligar, people give me these shiny necklaces... I only can put one on... but in real I have like 20+ of those... what gives?
j/k about multiple necklaces w but I wish I can put more gear than 1 necklace and 3 rings at R37 Puglist with L50 physical
Only if there is a way SE can figure out... gear you have on doesn't count also in inventory space... I wouldn't mind having accessories just for looks if they could take care of that problem. Try to make my character more unique by adding accessories just for looks... or adding Tattoos and stuff...

there should be no limitation to how many gear slots we can use. If it is in the game, we should be able to use it. This is crap that I can't use 4 rings, 2 earrings and a necklace...in FFXI, every slot on my character was full..now in 14, half of them are empty...
Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing

Why the slot cost isn't tied into your character's rank progression, I have no idea. That would just make too much sense.
The devs should use this as an opportunity to encourage more horizontal leveling (ranking up more than one class).
Give each class a class quest at rank 20 and rank 30 that grants one additional accessory cost point. This would give everyone a reason to rank up more than one class.
If you rank up every class to at least 20, you'll have 30 slot points, and if you rank each class up to at least rank 30, you'll have 48 slot points.
Another thing I want to point out is how the accessory slot restriction makes me waste inventory space. Let me explain.
As a MRD, I can either spec for tanking or spec for DD when in a party.
When I tank I wear: 2 Mythril Wristlets and 2 Brass Rings.
When I DD I wear: 4 Silver Rings
When I solo I wear: 2 Copper Wristlets and 4 Brass Rings.
This has led to me carrying around 12 items, when all I really should need to have are 2 Mythril Wristlets and 4 Silver Rings. It's hardly overpowered compared to the other three configurations I listed above, and it would be a lot easier to manage.
It doesn't make any sense that the optimized gear loadout for me is not comprised of high rank items, but rather of lower rank items.

^ This is exactly the problem. I don't see anything wrong with the limit, but it doesn't make sense to me that accessories have a cost increase simply for being higher rank. Generic jewelry should have the same slot cost from 1 - 50. There's no reason to penalize people for wearing rank appropriate gear.Low end gear is relatively more effective. Just look at Brass Rings (r18) vs. Silver Rings (r28). Each Brass Ring gives +3 Accuracy, and takes up 2 (of 12) slots. Each Silver Ring gives +4 Accuracy and takes up 3 slots.
So you can wear 4 brass rings, which give +12 Accuracy, and take up 8 slots.
Or you can wear 3 silver rings, which give +12 Accuracy, and take up 9 slots
Uhh, doesn't that mean brass rings are better?
But I'm sure it gets better at higher ranks, right? Well, look at the Electrum Rings (r48). Each one gives +5 Accuracy, and takes up 4 slots.
So you can wear 2 electrum rings, which give +10 Accuracy, and take up 8 slots.
So as you level up, the cost-benefit of each ring gets worse.
If they're not going to get rid of it, they at least need to fix the slot cost values.
Now if they wanted to add some unique jewelry with higher slot cost to offset higher than usual stat bonuses, I think that would actually add the strategy to the system that was intended in the first place. Right now the best strategy is to wear as much of the lowest level jewelry as you can.
Spot on. Maybe make the slot cost of rings different than earrings different than necklaces or whatever, but having the slot cost increase as item rank increases is dumb. They can keep the limit set for now, as in theory its a good idea, just poorly executed.^ This is exactly the problem. Please quit necroposting in these old troll threads, please....

I hate seeing empty slots too. Also, how many new players will actually know this when they go to buy rings etc. for the first time? I didn't. Then you're stuck with them.

get rid of the damn limit and just go back to lesser slots (aka: like FFXI's 2 rings 2 earring 1 neck/waist) not sure why we needed more then that in the first place. And if someone says "i have 10 fingers why cant i fill them all" then please stop posting, this is a video game, get over it.
