Why don't skilled players help people who are struggling?

I think, too many players have a limited amount of time to play. Even if they play for a few hours every day, why spend an hour or two helping people with content for little/no reward (and sometimes not even a 'thank you')? And just how many people can faceroll the 'hard' fights? I have no problem with the easy, low level stuff but, even though I've passed it, I feel nervous offering to help with some 'endgame' stuff.

I'm not sure this sounds so good when put this way TT^TT But yes, we do like to help people.
