I think it's unfair really...I think maybe a year, or even half a year is a much fairer timeline. But a month? there are very small fcs out there, even 1-2-3 players. Which is actually totally cool. I myself use my fc for my girlfriend and very close friends who I know with years, and I got some nice link shells for the random nice ppl I meet in my travels. It isn't very hard to imagine a situation where someone couldn't log in for a month. My friend has end of year uni exams, me and my gf will go on holidays soon. if this all occurred around the same time we'd lose our fc house, but luckily it hasn't.

I think the rule would be fine for very large FCs, where it is almost impossible that someone will not log in for 35 days. But it could be troublesome for very small fcs. I'm kinda expecting a d-bag response like"BUT FCS ARE MEANT TO HOLD 300 TARDS< WHY U NO FOLLOW BANDWAGON" but alas, I'm just not into 300 man guilds, and rather just be with my friends....have linkshells for randoms .

Nah, we're getting personal ROOMS attached to our FC's (either via doorway or stair access, undecided amongst the devs so far) FIRST but we'll be getting personal HOUSING at a later date.

honestly 35 days its too long in my opinion,
because to reset this timer, just "anybody" in your FC whoever he is, just have to enter 1 time in the house and your good to go 1 more month ...

its fun to see people complaining "gna gna IRL, study bla bla, familly bla bla"

FC, are suposed to be a gathering MANY players not just 1 or 3 or even 5, linkshell is better for this

and if yes you decided to by a house, how did you manage to buy it just by yourself, when its so expensive ??

and did you really think, by taking a break of "2-6 month" your house will wait your forever ? when they're are limited slot to build a house ?

I thought 35 days for FC leader to be away was too little, this is even worse. At least the FC leader can (most likely) regain his rank when he comes online. The house, along with all the humongous amounts of gil invested in it, will be lost forever.

Yes, but people actually do have different playstyles. Some don't play all that often, but they still do, and they enjoy it that way. Some may take longer vacations, etc.

And then there are people who simply don't enjoy large companies, they want to keep it small, maybe create one for a small group of RL friends, in example.
Because I'm mostly worried about the smallest companies. You guys on the forum tell people like that to join likeminded people, make their own FCs, and then let's say that they do: we get a small FC consisting of people who share this type of schedule. It could happen a month goes by during vacation time or whatever, where no one logs on.

But I do agree; it's not very likely. Still, the loss gained if it does happen is pretty high. You know how steep the gil amount has been for some players. :/

This is like first asking players to give up their ingame lifesavings, then chop it away from the people who struggled the hardest for it.

Here's a really easy fix: make the inactivity timer inversely proportional to the number of players in the FC; the more players in the FC, the shorter the limit (with 35 days being the shortest). A small FC can have, say, up to 70 days or something, whereas a large FC (I don't know, 150+? whatever the statistics show) can have the 35 day limit since they're more likely to have at least one person be on to reset it. Nothing changes in the grand scheme of things and solves all the "but some people like to take long vacations" excuses (because if someone says they're going to take a 3 month break and complain about this, then you can really laugh at them).

what people are failing to understand here is this is FC housing. not me and my wife housing, or me and my few casual friends who may or may not log in within a month housing. the space is limited, its expensive for a reason. if you want to build houses and let them rot then wait for personal housing. in the mean time you are all just sounding pretty entitled

By that argument it sounds almost like they created content the game barely has capacity to hold. Content so fragile that a month of inactivity for the minority of small FC house owners will break it. I honestly do not think this is the intention of the developers, who already have shown understanding for smaller FCs.

Also, note that a FC is not registered as such only when reaching 300 members. A 5-man company is also a company. FC housing deviates from personal by allowing others than yourself to share it. Simply look at the size of the smallest house to see it was not intended for 300-man companies.
