Any time your IP address changes significanly you will see this unless you use an authenticator (either the token or the app).

It's an attempt to combat rmt compromising accounts, with this system, in theorey once rmt manage to log onto someone elses account, it will instantly lock the account thereby preventing the unautherised access.

Like changing one's modem? Ironically, I got the message after plugging in my new modem, so does that have anything to do with it?

I'm not sure if all modems do it, but I know I had one that would reset my IP address every time it got unplugged.

Some ISPs change IP Address when it detects the modem reset.
