You'd be surprised. It could be used as a distraction. Get peoples' minds off that kinda crap, at least for a little while. Remember what the WHOLE point of Blitzball was in X (no, not Wakka's celestrial weapon)?

My money (and hope) is that they stick it in that massive chunk of desert south of Ul'dah/Southern Thanalan. There's a whole lot of empty sandy land out there.

I'm hoping it's in the Sagolii Desert. Those guys excavating in Byregot's Spire, I'd like to think that's a piece of the Gold Saucer =D.

Even in real life, only a portion of a nation deals with the war. The rest are business as usual and if you are in the entertainment business, then you would continue and possibly make more money to help people "forget" about the war.
