Soldiery Tome shield worth it?

yeah i also prefer the higher block rate type shields over block strength. as remn said it keeps the uptime on shield swipe much higher. also blocking more times than just more absorbtion probably even out in the end. i dont know the exact numbers. i would think a more consistent block would be better than higher blocks. steady mitigation as to more spikey mitigation.
i am ALONG way from being able to get enough soldiery marks for the chest. should i just save up and go for the chest or go ahead and get the ring?
i looked up the animus shield. its good too. but will be along time to get at the rate my atmas are dropping...which is zip. horrible luck so far.

The left-side stuff usually gives you more stats per tome making them better buys. Unless you have some pressing need for the ring.

Normally I'd say chest, but in your case I'd probably get the ring first to replace gladiator's ring. That's an 11(!!!) vit upgrade that you can get now, and you can continue running CT to try for the chest where as no accessories drop in CT.

If at all possible, make sure you cap your soldiery each week, I'd make that your primary objective.
