    Does anyone know if gear on a retainer has any bearing on what they bring back? I spent a lot of gil to gear my retainer and it still brings back garbage!

    From what I understand, the Quick Exploration ventures are completely random. My poorest-geared, lowest-level retainer is the one who has brought me the most rare stuff. The higher leveled, better geared retainers bring me fish.

    They have a slightly better chance of bringing back higher level items as their gear and levels go up.
