    Suggestion? Bring back beastman seals and BCNM system from FFXI

    Gives a reason to farm the open world, and provides a good challenge for rare items/relic weapons etc. I found the BCNM's difficult, but exciting, and something to shoot for, and since you needed seals/orbs to enter it kept people from just blowing through the content. Basically a RNG on top of an RNG, but the drop rates were much better than atma.

    Personally I'd much rather follow this system to upgrade my relic than grinding fates for days with zero progress.

    Thoughts?

    i was hoping atma would be like that, because the description of the atma says they have the soul of a powerful monster inside

    I don't. Trash mobs in this game are boring to farm and I'm tired of instance boss fights. This game needs variety like actual raids not just boss fights.

    Don't be difficult with semantics just for the sake of being difficult; he specifically said bring it back from FFXI.

    That said, I don't entirely agree, but I can see why people would get behind this. I do like that it is an actual suggestion instead of just another whine thread.

    That said, I think people (including myself) would have less problems with the Atma if the drop rates weren't quite as annoying and/or you weren't synced down to level 10 for most of them and they weren't amazingly braindead (not bothering to move out of AOEs, not looking at the screen, watching movies). I'm interested in your suggestion, but my problems are this:

    1) Another huge problem I have with Atma is that it is COMPLETELY isolated from everything else. If you're farming soldiery, you're also getting Myth, which is used for basically everything nowadays. If I'm doing dailies, I'm working for the prizes that come with that, while also getting a small amount of Myth. When I'm farming Atma, I get NOTHING. Seals that I don't spend on anything (mild exaggeration, you can cash in and sell to crafters, but it doesn't feel "worth it" for my goals), minute amounts of gil, and a bunch of items that take up space in my inventory. If it costs something to enter this type of content on top of that, and depending on how that resource is acquired, I'd probably end up a little ticked when there's also RNG involved, which is why Atma is evil in the first place.

    2) I think we should elaborate on "difficult but exciting," as I'm sure most of the replies here are going to say "if you want difficult, you can do Primals or Coil." I think the point that you're getting at is that it is something in the open world that doesn't require an instance, but then in blends in too much with Fates. It really all just makes me think that they need to rebuild the Fate system from the ground up more than adding something new, but that's what this discussion is for, I suppose.

    EDIT: As for the suggestion on Raiding, that's something else for a different time. This is specifically related to Atmas. Whether the game needs raiding is one thing, but I don't think it should discussed in the same vein as Atma; Atma is supposed to be content that is "easier to acquire" without the difficulty of the other content in the game, with easy being relative toward the challenge of the content itself, not in the time required to actually complete the task.

    I see no point in farming for seals but I would love to see BCNM be incorporated in "some form", I was hoping that guildhest would be something like BCNM but they seem to have abandoned it since launch.

    They do really need to add more difficult party based objectives in this game, have them reward crafting items similar to the treasures maps would be a good start.

    I'd rather see ISNMs as an additional use for Grand Company Seals.

    Heck, remove the crafting materials from the list of things you can buy with Seals and make them drop for GCNMs. Take it to a pop location, use it to enter a Guildhest style instance, beat it and get the reward. Would be a perfect addition to the game IMO. Of course, this is XIV, so the developers would probably slap a "Can only be done every 18 hours" lock out on it to completely ruin it...

    I think they would need to add more challenging open world areas first i.e. places with level 60 enemies that require either skill or a team to take down. Otherwise its just zerging more trash.

    Peiste maps are just like BCNM, except in the great wide open.
    They just need to pump up the difficulty.

    But it was instanced content
