Crafting Sucks - and I'm here to complain

Hello and welcome to my first RAGE POST!
Fellas and NotFellas, you're in for a treat because I used to do this crap all the time in another MMO to the point it actually became "a thing". I know it's not going to become "a thing" here because the people on that game weren't as refined as all of you lovely people: you can read about yourselves here.

Unlike that other game, I'm going to try very hard not to swear because the lovely moderators here are very ban-and-delete happy. So, here we go:

This is about crafting. OBVIOUSLY! And you know what? I figgering hate it.
    It's stupid. It's pointless. It's not fun. It's tedious. It's boring. It's broken. It's unbalanced.
^ All of that. That's all true. Whether YOU, dear ready, agree with that or not. Some people think Murder is okay. It's justified because reasons. Sometimes you're just wrong for being right..and vice-versa. So take your opposition to this rant and shove it.

Why, oh Skittled One, is crafting so bad?
Well, me, let me answer myself more poignantly and I'll tackle each insult individually.
It's stupid: Crafting is stupid because you're not MMOing. You're just making things into other things based on a routine predetermined by someone not very adept in logic (see 3 logs making 1 lumber). It lacks purpose beyond lower levels and this system seems stuffed with a lot of FAIL BECAUSE I SAID SO.

It's pointless: It really is. Most equipment can be purchased by an NPC or acquired as a reward from a quest or dungeon; and all of %100 of it will be better than anything anyone can craft for your level. So why? You craft to become better at craft so you can craft better crafts for crafting...all by yourself.

It's not fun: This is only partially true. It can be quite fun until you reach a certain point where everything grinds to a halt and you will literally stop and go WTF AM I DOING?! After you hit 50 all the fun goes right out the window and it becomes just another chore similar to Atma, except the investment is quite more burdensome. There is no more joy in achieving that next pinnacle. There is nothing left but trial, error, debt, sadness, failure, failure, failure. You've done nothing but improve only to achieve ultimate suckiness. Congraturations; you are great Job.

It's tedious: You NEED to materia your gear. You NEED to consume cheesecake and never become fat. You NEED to give it your all to be rewarded with a %10 HQ chance and start ALL OVER AGAIN WHEN YOU RUN OUT OF MATERIALS. And most materials are only available once every 45 minutes because the truckhumpin Tree Fairy forbays you from touching the Spruce more than once a day. It being one of only FOUR SPRUCE EVER which, by the way, Spruce grows in Temperate climates so why is it only found in the land of Rocks and Snow? BULLTULIP!

It's boring: Settle in for routine, because nothing ever changes around here! This is your life, now -> IQ >> SH 2 >> Waste Not >> progress until CS2 >> Hasty >> Manip >> SH 2 >> Hasty >> repeat until 34% >> Strides >> Standard >> CS2

It's broken: According to anyone who's ever failed to HQ something at %98 multiple times in a row. That's some amazing RNG BECAUSE THAT'S ALL YOU GET! RNG! You got there almost, now we just roll for the cigar...NOPE! A loser is you!
Oh, that's not the half of what's broken. Fully geared and materia'ed Carpenter trying a 1 star craft? You will never HQ unless the RNG falls in line. Do you want to know why? Oh, you battered little munchkins know exactly why and it boils down to this:

YOU CAN NEVER BE A MASTER OF YOUR CRAFT UNTIL YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL AT EVERYTHING ELSE!

Want to know how your Mechanic got his ASE Master Certification? He's also an expert Chef, an expert Electrician, an expert Heart Surgeon, an expert OBGYN, an expert Bartender, an expert Brick Layer, an expert Taxidermist and an expert Meteorologist.
It's literally just like earning a college degree. So, you want a Master's in Funkonomics? Well, first you need Advanced Trigonometry 3, Applied Quantum Physics and a CPR certification. Reasons!

It's unbalanced: Some craft classes are just unbelievably worthless and give nothing to the economy what so ever. People will use food. They have to. Vanya, Rose Gold, Griphonskin... But wtfCarpenter? No more consumable arrows after v.1 was put down like a rabid dog? wtfArmorer can't synth certain ingots anymore? wtfAlchemist has no use what-so-ever... What. So. Ever. The IL for DoW/DoM keeps going up and up with new content for them, but the crafters get...grindy impossibruness with IL45 stuff still clinging to them?!

So there. I'm fed up with this crafting nonsense. I hate you, Square Enix, for making crafting even more incredibly stupid than it was in XI. I hope really terrible (yet non-lethal) things upon you. Go home and hang your head in shame and disgrace. You have dishonored yourselves. 700 years ago that would've been, like, suicidal levels of grief.

I now yield the floor to the waves of gnashing know-it-alls who are simply dying to "tl:dr" and point out the very true fact that I am utter crap at crafting.
But you know what? All the shrieking of disapproval that is about to happen?: totally adds credibility to this, because

I love crafting, but i have to agree with a lot of the statement...
Craft need a lot of time for very little return... It's harder, longer than raiding and give nearly nothing better...

Crafting : You need the perfect stuff (with overmeld materia) to be able to have a chance to HQ the hardest craft and you need EVERY craft class at 50 to do so... And then you only need luck (with a random that likes to troll you so much >__<) and good rotation which could be macroed if we had a "if" statement on craft status

Raiding : you need appropriate stuff (at least i90) and team to do nearly everything (you need a brain too, but not that much) you only need one class at 50 and other up to 34-38 for cross class skills and then you can do anything.

I thought this might be an interesting read, but it just seems like the OP came to a conclusion, and then decided to make outlandish arguments supporting the conclusions....

So I decided to focus on the OPs signature picture: it looks like batman is reaching out to a drunk guy peeing.

So you know Batman but not Star Wars? What has the world of pop culture come to? /facepalm

Bravo, OP, on the polemical tone of your post. While I don't agree with everything you said, it was, at the very least, fun to read.

    The lulz. You have them.

I really wish you'd stop posting, or at least change your signature. because I'm starting to associate your inane ramblings with LGBT in general, no matter how much I try to stop myself from doing so.

According to whom? Popular culture is where many of the "classics" originated. And I do realize that this is not necessarily the case with "Modernist" art, but artistic expression before and after the "Modernist" period was often popular before it reached the status of canon. Some examples within the art forms are Chaucer, Shakespeare, Byron, Tennyson, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, etc. Thus, "popular culture" is more important than it may seem.
