Chinese doesn't count, they are cheaters!... Too many people there. x'P
But, yes, well, people always have confussions with that... Basically there's the "Most extended languages" and the "Most spoken languages"... Where chinese wins because they are 1.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000
PS: I know the number I put there is exaggerated, they are probably much more, it was just for putting an example >_<
SO you are racist? I am a Chinese who speaks and writes simple english and I am offended.
* Purchasing land or housing using gil obtained from RMT (real money trading) or other illicit means is strictily prohibited. Any land or estate hall deemed to have been purchased through such means is subject to seizure.
* "Cheating" consists of using third party programs or tools to conduct actions players would not normally be able to do in the game (for example, obtaining gil or items through illicit means, traversing at extremely high speeds, warping, using automated means to operate your character while you are away from the game).
I'...I'm not!.. I'm just saying you guys are too much... didn't pretend to insult you all >.<
Hm... No offense, no problem, but... Tell a german or a french the same things you are telling me... "Why do you want a French version?" "You will have to communicate in English (mostly) to other players...Spanish is #2 when it comes to native speaking people, but after English if you count how many actually speak the languages. How many of those actually play FFXIV ? No offense, but a lot of those are from South America, and I doubt there is that many there playing FFXIV (again, no offense)
Also, if you know English, why do you want a Spanish version ? You will still have to communicate in English (mostly) to other players, and is spell descriptions really that big of a problem ?
I'm Swedish, and I wouldn't want to play a Swedish version even if it existed... I don't want to see some weird sounding translation of everything, and have a hard time talking about certain abilities and such, cause I don't know/remember what it was named exactly in English....
Would they really accept that, huh?...
This petition is not for me, even if I started the thread, is for all those players that could be enjoying this game, but they are not because they DON'T Know the English... There's a big super big, enormous, giant, awesome (kobold mode), percentage, amount of players that would be playing here but they CAN'T.... It's not they are lazy to play it because it is in English, it is because they REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND IT.
That's why I think it is important, because in Spain we have the cinema and almost all the things translated to our language. The same happens in south america, we rarely rarely need to have contact with the English in our lifes, thus, not everyone knows the language... So, SE is really losing players here, they can't think "We have only 1% spaniards in the game, so it is pointless to translate it... It is exactly because they have only 1% that they should think what's wrong."
These kind of things make me feel even more noob... Well, it is my way.
Btw, don't take me wrong by my replies in a flush, I like all of your replies, it will always be better than silence. At to give reasons of why this is not translated is also a good thing. (And sorry for the bad English)
"Cuanta razón."
I know it is a lost battle, but, well, noobs are whining all the day about things, so why wouldn't I?... As I wrote above, it seems that Square Enix's reasoning is a bit weird, in my honest opinion. "We don't have enough Spanish players, so that doesn't guarantee us to have an increase of them if translating"... Okay, and that goes the cycle, so because you don't have enough Spaniards, you won't translate, you'll never have enough Spaniards because they won't come because it is not translated, and it will never be translated because not enough Spaniards are calling for it... And not enough spaniards are calling for it because they don't want to buy the game just for put a message here.
And there goes on...It's a stupid cycle. Geez... It is our falt, for not having the laws that Canadians and Germans have "Or you distribute the game on our language or you don't"... Because I'm sure that, seeing how SE applies their politic about regions and players, they would never translate game to those languages if there wouldn't be such a law.... No offense, it's just "There's no enough french players here, nothing guarantee us there will be enough of them if we translate, so we don't translate, so..." and goes ahead.
Teehe, I feel jealous for you german and french people and your laws, but at the same time happy you don't have to deal with it. I guess many of the people there doesn't know English, so if they are able to play the game is because it is translated.
