In 1.0, the recipes were even more detailed (which made it painful to synth)...I believe some real life cooks actually made some things based off the in game ingredients and posted on the old forums.

It should be noted that most of the recipes in-game are just real-life recipes with Eorzean ingredients. However, that being said, what's the real-life equivalent of an Eft? They look like certain extinct giant predatory amphibians, which obviously won't work. However, most of them were very similar to Crocodiles and Alligators, so I would suggest using Alligator meat for things like Eft Steak and Dzemael Gratin.

Eft = Oversized Salamander...though I don't think anyone eats that irl.

Eft can definitely be alligator despite how unorthodox that might be, but hey it's meant to be exotic! In any case, my grandmother makes the meanest most delicious lentils EVER. So she's trying a lentils and chestnuts thing and I will be posting the recipe here within a week! Please spread word of this idea and let's get SE to think about making a cookbook!
