    Why not? I mean, I can see how there may be some griefing potential with changing names but it's not overwhelming like it might be in other MMOs. Unless you get stupid with company chest privs or something.

    It already does. Knowing that, how many times have you (or somebody you know) been scammed by somebody who then changed their name? None? Ok.

    Seriously, there won't suddenly be some mass scammer ring of people who steal your sweetroll and then name change to evade the GMs.
