2.2 Made getting gold on Steel Reign easier?

I've attended 3 of the last 4 odin spawns on Excalibur and on those three by sear luck I managed to form a proper party, 2 tanks, 2 healers, 4 dps, and I can distinctly remember on 2 of them 1 member of the party getting an aggro bar. And on all 3 I got bronze, as a SMN. Is there something going on with this? Because I am seriously pissed and feeling jibbed.

Sounds like you had tanks that failed to get into melee with him or were undergeared.

What level was Odin? (level 60 Odin seems to have higher enmity requirements for silver/gold than level 55 Odin)
Were your tanks getting killed? And if so, were they porting back to town or waiting to be raised? Anytime outside the FATE is time when enmity is not being added to your "score."
What iLevel were you and your tanks?
Were your tanks in Shield Oath/Defiance?
Did your healers tag Odin at least once or did they just heal and or resurrect?

Have a full party, make sure you got 1-2 Summoners. The massive dot damage will shoot you up to gold very easily. Gold should easily be acquired from doing that, as long the other members do their jobs.

Things that can help the to get higher scores on Odin/Bahamut:

1. Treat the fight as if your party is the only party there. (This is a major boss you focus to survive.)
2. Few/no deaths, and everyone is going max dps/enmity gains.
3. Bind beforehand at the nearest aetheryte just in case, so you can return to the fight quickly.
4. Try to minimize stacking classes to increase LB progression
5. Try to have a MNK or DRG for the most potent single target Limit Breaks.
6. Use LB at the proper time (during Zantesuken on Odin, for example)

Easier said than done. I am a SMN and i couldn't get more than 1 dot up at a time on him. the other 3 dps where bards, and i got to the fight about 20% in. I'd understand not getting gold, but at least silver. the 2nd fight i can't remember the entire composition but i was there 2% in still got bronze and its like "really you're not even going to give me ONE mantle?"

1. I normally do but they are normally pugs
2. I'm aware but again pugs.
3. Expect a couple fights I don't die and if I do I bind when i come back.

Option 7: get in a ls that tracks them. at least then you have people who TRY to be organized about it, and if you still have doubt, then do an internal LS party on the fly when the odin shell says its up.

I'm in two that track him, they don't bother to form parties from the ls's anymore for some reason.

i did 1 pld/6 brd/1healer and got gold last 3 times lol

Yeah getting Gold was always pretty easy. As WHM I just went around raising peeps inside and outside of pt, Gold everytime. Now you sneeze on Odin and it gives you gold.
