What ya mean "ever get that gear he needed", if the OP puts in enough effort Relic is easy to obtain, the GC weapon will do for now and later on assuming he can beat all 3 extreme encounters there is an i90 primal weapon to be had.

The Ifrit weapons aren't that great anyway.

GC weapons do not work well for doing the primals, you know this. If you've actually played XIV, you'll know theres a mass amount of people out there who will kick him in a heartbeat because his "dps sucks".
