Its not that they look too different, its that the graphics in the ff8 cgi ( how many years old now? ) trounces ff14 ingame graphics. Thank you o/ to ps3 graphical cap to forever stunt ff14.

While I agree that PS3 holds the game back in some aspects, lack of cutscene graphics in live gameplay isn't one of them.

In a cutscene everything is predetermined, leaves rustling on trees, grass being moved by wind, people in the background, a bit of dust kicked up when/how they move, how lighting hits them is all predetermined. In an unpredictable environment like a live game, its impossible to have graphics on that level because you can't control what the players look like, when and where they move and what they interact with in the world.

Exactly. PS3 "graphics caps" has nothing to do with it - CGI movies include detail that simply can't be replicated in real time. The scenes are rendered frame-by-frame, with each frame taking several minutes. (Have fun with THAT kind of frame rate!) Even movies more than a decade old will appear shiny next to real-time animated models in the present day.

Pretty much, yes. Yes, that is what it means. Adding the glasses and the pink shirt helps, though, to hammer it home.

I want you to go in game, and take a screenshot of someone who has a character's face that looks just like mine. I can bet my bottom dollar that 95% of them are going to have this face.

Well on midgar variations of the midlander face is flushed out. The pic you posted started off as common but now I see the one you picked quite often amongst people who post here even.

I hardly ever see a character with the same face as mine, and I've been playing since 1.0. Even people who chose the same face-type don't look like my character.

It's an MMO I pretty sure just cause you don't notice people (which I doubt you check EVERY midlander chick you see lol) in your time zone that look like your character doesn't mean its not super common on other servers at varying times.

I even have my 2nd 1.0 character that looks like yours except she has black hair instead of blonde.
Not trying to rain on your parade or anything, if you see Quistis in your character that's no problem,
but you can't say your unique in an MMO, I know there's probably plenty of people who look like mine.
