The real problem is that only two classes in the game have reliable silences and you can DF and get neither of them.

Selene silencing isn't that bad and monk silence is completely reliable (and you can easily solo-silence everything with it). The latter is obviously a dps loss, but there's nothing unreliable about it(except the player) and can get you through the turn by filling in for one silencer or all.
