How often do people actually clear Titan Extreme?

Too bad you're not on Excalibur. My FC hosts Titan EX Learning parties every weekend. We have a very experienced group and after every clear, we bring in 1-2 new people to show them the ropes. Would love to help ya out if we could.

Sadly I missed out on that last night. BUT, I was busy clearing Turn 5 finally. So I was ok with it lol

For the longest time we couldn't clear it. Mostly it was dealing with lag the main problem. Eventually, like 4 of us got a WTFast or equivalent VPN just for Titan Ex. We could one-shot it every week after that.

So yeah, titan Ex is more of a Latency check than a skill or gear check.

I swear that fight is impossible. I've been trying for well over a month and no matter how high the ilvl requirement, no matter how "experienced" people claim to be I've never seen a group clear it. This is some serious bullshit.

Keep trying, you'll get it eventually. The biggest issue I found with Titan EX groups is they'd all disintegrate after a couple of runs, so people didn't really learn too much from their mistakes. The win finally came with a 10% echo and there were several people down at the end of the fight.

Titan is easier than Garuda. *shrug*

LOL. I'll have one of what you're smoking please. Simply gauging it by time taken (the most important measure in an MMO), Titan is much more challenging then either Garuda, Ifrit or Levi EX. Havne't tried moogle yet but I expect to clear it quicker than Titan EX.

Farming primal weapons since week 2 of patch 2.1. We had an extreme primal LS, I think membership is about 40-60 where we farm extreme primals and sell them together.

That's nice dear. You should get a medal. Oh wait you've already got weapons and a bunch of gil that used to belong to bads. How does that contribute to the thread?

A part of me is frustrated with the fight. A smaller part of me is somewhat happy that this fight is churning out angrier and angrier people each day (Every other DF has someone insulting people). First they'll hate the fight, then they'll hate the server, then they'll hate the game and then they'll hate yoship but in the end they'll take it out on other players and then everyone will just feel lousy. More people feeling lousy with me the better I say.

I only started working on primals after 2.2 (gave up in 2.1 due to "No Melee Allowed"), and have only ever done them through Duty Finder and Party Finder. I've cleared Titan X a few times, but it took a lot of failed groups to do so.

On the bright side though, once you get the Leviathan fight down, it becomes moderately easy to farm in PF groups - a lot of groups still fail, but not nearly at the rate as Titan X.

I think one of the funniest wipes I've seen was when the caster decided to LB3 the mini-titans. Just in time to blind everyone for the bombs and landslide.

That usually gets me killed too.

"Why's titan spinning around when he shouldn't be?"

"Oh wow, look at the medium sized flower pattern we're creating right behind titan after a landslide! That's totally safe!"

I'd look at these people/situations and it makes forget where I am in the phase.

Since I've done both tanking phases I can say, for sure, everything is ridiculously easy to dodge in Titan EX. Even if you need as much up time on the boss as you can possibly squeeze in (which you don't, only thing that needs to be killed quick are the adds), most of the stuff gives you plenty of time to react to it. Plumes is the only slightly hard-to-react mechanic in the fight and I've even dodged those when I completely spaced out and forgot what was coming when. Latency issues are a bit less forgiving in EX since everyone stacks for plumes, but that's about it. 3-way landslides are easy to dodge, bombs are easy to dodge, plumes are easy to dodge... there's a lot of stuff TO dodge but it's not exactly giving you a small gap of time to dodge for most of it. Like HM it mainly depends on your ping, but as long as you aren't on Dial Up or somewhere in Australia you should be fine. I have a personal bias toward Garuda since tanking her is probably the hardest thing to actually tank in this game so far, excluding T9 (since I haven't done it yet). I'd say Garuda and Titan are roughly even for DPS though, maybe a slight step up and obviously everyone is personally responsible for themselves in this fight, but... *shrug* if you can do HM, you can do EX.

Oh, also Moggle Mog EX is extremely easy (but I'd hate to be a Summoner in it). You can actually heal/cooldown through the determination buff that the Bard gives and the Thief's damage, so if you've seen MrHappy's guide and think that it's difficult because he said it is... it's not. :P Maybe at the minimum ilvl req, though - but people require you to be 90 for attempts anyway lol
