They are still a preorder retailer, but not a early access retailer. It's like getting something for FREE or ABSOLUTELY FREE.Why are they listed as a preorder retailer then if they are not giving out early access? This was done by SE right? I'm not going to deal with goin back to the store and will wait til 14th but it is VERY misleading. At the least they could state that Gam estop DOES NOT DO PREORDER EARLY ACCESS CODES. That took me all of 10 seconds.
Yeah Duce and I just read all the preorder info page after I preordered like an idiot lol. Oh well, my mistake. Just to Clarify it does state that each retailer may do preorder codes differently. I withdraw my rant now : ). See you all on the 14th!
If they're not giving out the pre-order codes, then they're not a pre-order retailer. Early access is only one of the pre-order bonuses, but without the codes, you don't get any of them.
Well yeah thats how I saw it but it is listed on the site as a retailer for it. I asked about the preorder codes and the lady said that im eligible for the preorder items but I dont get my code until monday the 14th. I asked her that if I was eliglble for the preorder items why would I not be eligible for early access. Honestly I knew more about this game than the store employees did. They thought beta went all the way until the 14th for free.
Like I stated earlier I dont care that I have to wait to play it. It's just frustrating how confusing they have the sale of their product set up. Why wouldnt all preorder's get early access, regardless of purchase location? I could have waited til Monday to go get the game since I dont get early access, which was kind of the whole point of me going down to order it today. I assumed, without further reading, that gamestop would have early access codes with their preorders since on the buy product page it lists target, gamestop, amazon, etc.
I had a similar problem with my local EB games store (Australia) since the staff knew next to nothing I called customer support and they emailed me the preorder code within minutesWell yeah thats how I saw it but it is listed on the site as a retailer for it. I asked about the preorder codes and the lady said that im eligible for the preorder items but I dont get my code until monday the 14th. I asked her that if I was eliglble for the preorder items why would I not be eligible for early access. Honestly I knew more about this game than the store employees did. I called Gamestop customer service twice today and got same reply both times. "We, Gamestop, are not participating in early access for FF14:ARR"
If anyone out there has extra ps4 early access code they would be willing to part with I'd appreciate it. Send me a message here or hit me up on psn under th3k1ngb4by
Ok, I work at Gamestop and have been going round and round with GS and SE all day. Here's what I gather: Gamestop did get codes for the PS3 and PC last August, but were never given codes for PS4 and thus never advertised they were doing early access (they are doing Mog Cap and Cait Sith Minion though). To make up for the lack of EA codes, they are having a special where: buy the game and purchase a 60-Day Subscription within 1 week (which people will obviously do) and they will give you a $14.00 Gift Card for free... which if someone is smart, they will turn around and use it towards ANOTHER month of the game. In short, yes, at Gamestop you won't have the game 3 days early, but they are trying to make up for it by pretty much giving you an extra 30 days. Annoying I know, but in truth its not their fault, its SE's for including them in their marketing as having ALL preorder bonuses.
Hope this helps
