Ugh, I saw a Coddled Spriggan in Outer La Noscea while doing Beastman quests but I didn't bother to kill it since I figured it was some strange quest-related mob >_> F-me, I guess.

I ran into one of the fates by accident in Bentbranch Meadows. x15 y25.

According to reddit thread, in some cases when a coddled spriggan is killed a fate spawns which have a lot of coddled spriggans that you can farm for eggs...

Here's a reddit topic discussing locations of coddled spriggans. http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...e_coordinates/

The town vers of this event was also confusing. I'm jotting a brief sum up of it here. Correct me and I'll fix later if I get anything wrong.
Pick up the Event from a quest giver in one of the the three cities. Get your free lvl 10 Pristine Egg Cap (a hat with stats) from npc close by. If you are lvl 20 or above you should buy the lvl 20 Vibrant Egg Cap (hat w/ stats).
Go to Gridania (how will this work for those low levels in Limsa who have not advanced the quest line??? *frowns*). Go to old Gridania the amphitheater. Blab with quest giver Jihli. If you are level 20 or above you want to wear the (20) Vibrant just because there are so many who are wearing the free (10) Pristine. Yell for party (not shout because that reaches the entire world which is pointless but yell is just the town you are in).
Party up with only one person. The other person has to be wearing the opposite hat of what you are. If you are Vibrant they must be Pristine. There are other hats and rings. Rings do nothing for the event. Other hats do nothing at this time.
Go to the Yellow gate. Inside the city not outside (that confused me I was outside looking for stuff). Just inside Yellow gate will be two glowing baskets and npc only you can see. One called Vibrant one called Pristine. Advance quest with npc. Pick up the egg that matches your hat. Carry it back to the amphitheater. If the Sprig stops you go back and get the egg again. Hint: go the long way around there is no getting past the Spriggins.
Collect reward.
...
In my case I tried to do the event again with another person and the eggs didn't appear for me to pick up but they did appear for the other person. Still trying to figure out what up with that. I wore Vibrant Egg Cap both times.

quote from Acelin link quote/say is within a small radial distance around you (usually about 25 yalms)
/yell covers a larger distance
/shout reaches everyone in the zone
/tell (name) reaches a specific person privately
/linkshell# talks to those in your linkshell

Welcome to seasonal events. There's no guarantee you'll be able to do everything.
Nothing reaches the entire world. Shout covers the entire zone you're in (e.g., Old Gridania, but not New Gridania). Yell is just say with a larger radius.
These are individual quests, and they're not repeatable. You've done the quest, so it's not going to activate for you again. I'm pretty sure the only part that requires a partner is actually speaking to the NPC. Once you've both done that (with the right hats), I think you could just drop party and continue solo.
I tried it with another person I knew instead of a stranger and he confirmed he cannot get the quest again. So you can help someone by partying up with them but you can only do this once. Which means someone out there helped me the first time I ran it even though he couldn't do the quest twice. That's friendly. These are individual quests, and they're not repeatable. Personally I feel seasonal events should be accessible by everyone, what they have here is pretty exclusionary for all but a small handful of people who are willing to waste time for rare spawns to pop, FF11 says hello.
I've seen several bots farming the pop locations already, its really quite sad.

Found a spriggan where kobold dailies are near where you soothe the baby bombs, dropped silver egg.
As much as I want to open it, I wanna find out what gold have inside
