I could have sworn I saw somewhere that the drop rate for atma is unintentional. But it could have been a joke post made around April 1st. (Also I'm still in the process of waking up.)
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
If they do nerf it, I expect it to be around 2.3.
Not because of some ploy to get PS4 users excited, but more so others can catch up. Much like what went down with the 2.1/0 content when 2.2 came out.
I absolutely agree with everything you've said here. The whole Atma gathering thing just seems like it was not well thought-out, and just lazily and hastily thrown together.I don't really mind the Atma grind as it is. As i move through an area to get to a beast quest or to do some gathering, i stop and run a few fates on the way and move on. My only complaint is that I need 12 free spots in my inventory for all the atmas. They should be treated as Key items and dumped into the Key Items bag (like the rest of the relic items aside from the weapon itself). And if the atmas actually looked different from each other it might be nice to tell which ones you had. There are twelve atmas to get and twelve zodiac signs, why do they all look like red polished teeth?
I got my atmas after one week of farming, I don't want SE to nerf it because THERE ARE OTHER WEAPONS people can get which are equal or better stats as the Animus. If people hate Atma farming, there are alternatives.
That require's Coil 5 or Titan EX to be done.
And guess what? The majority of the player base hasn't completed those due to the difficulty and how you can't make the slightest error.
People want the best, but don't want to raid. The only alternative is the animus weapons for those who don't have the time of day to raid.
Meant to edit last one. My bad.
Atma farming is fine. Many people are just too spoiled into finishing things at Day 1.
This illustrates the problem that people are having with the system. Some people have farmed for a week and still haven't gotten 1. If you farmed 5hrs a day for 7 days for a total of 35hrs to get them all, and someone else spent the same time frame to get nothing, people are naturally going to think that something is wrong.
As someone else noted, the other possible weapons have certain prerequisites that a lot of people have not completed yet.
There's no doubt, if you look at the trend everything keeps scaling down.
I expect an increase drop rate in the future or some other means to give people atma faster,
but at the moment also consider that it is giving people something different to do, even if you might not enjoy what it is.
source: Letter from the Producer, XX (10/14/2011)I often say that MMORPGs are like theme parks. Theme parks have any number of different attractions... They cater to visitors of all ages, visitors with all kinds of expectations and desires, in all sorts of situations;... That’s why I think that in the world of the modern MMORPG, which should be everything like a theme park, diverse rides, facilities, and specs are an absolute necessity.
What I want to make is a theme park where both casuals and hard-cores can exist and play together.
I hope you heavy gamers out there will hurry to clear the game’s latest contents...
I hope you more casual players will enjoy traveling around Eorzea by chocoboand airshipwith your in-game and real-life friends while working your way up to end-game content like the Ifrit fight....
There’s no need to rush. Both play styles have their place. Should the need arise, we’ll look into adjusting the level of difficulty, or introducing a system that lets you set it yourself.
The key thing is, or at least what I believe Yoshi-P was intending to say, there should be something for everyone to enjoy, but not everything should be catered to your personal preferences.
Such as you might go to a theme-park but hate roller coasters because it makes you sick. Maybe you could at least ride one before your stomach turns. However, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy other aspects of the park.
edit:
I've strike'd out airship since I don't think he meant enjoy teleporting around the world, but instead enjoy exploring the world.
