The alternative is just removing the wave weps and making Levi drop the Tidals. i100 weps for everyone! NO. No one is saying grind Levi every day for 6 hours. Everyone wants everything NOW. No patience whatsoever.

No the alternative is have Levi drop an item (mirror fragment) for all 8 players, collect 100 and upgrade them that way.

Knowing my luck, this is still faster than farming Atmas personally and even if it happens to take 180 tries, at least I get a bear out of it.

Trouble is though that kind of grind can burn people out and result in them quitting, its kind of sad that we are seeing the same mistake they made in 1.0 with primals and RNG all over again.

I agree that it should take time to upgrade the weapon but it goes back to people wanting to see progress and not RNG kicking them in the face repeatedly.

Yeah it's pretty stupid. Levi should drop a "shard of the mirror" with a 10% drop rate, and collect 10 = mirror of the whorl, rather than the current ridiculous 1% or whatever it is.

this would actually be pretty cool, get the 10 shards, and not just a turn in, but have a decent questline, from Gerolt or something, to get them forged back into the whole mirror.

This makes no sense. Everything in the game that drops loot is RNG based. My FC farmed coil for two weeks and all I saw drop, out of what I could have used to gear up, were brd earrings. And that was only twice out of two months of farming that damn instance. All primal weapon drops are RNG based, all armor out of chests is RNG based. Please, tell me what rewards we get that are not RNG based. Other than quest rewards.

The mirror gives you an i100 weapon. The drop rate therefore needs to be such that the work required is close to that of farming the 2 and a half weeks of soldiery needed for the i100 weathered weps or to complete your i100 relic animus. In 2-3 weeks of on and off farming I'm sure you'll see and win roll on at least 1 mirror. In the meantime you build animus for your main and farm soldiery for a wep for a 3rd class.

According to most that I've talked to, an average of about 50 runs = 1 mirror. Therefore, the expected amount of runs for a single person if everybody needs each time, which they will, is 50*8=400 runs (assuming all wins, lol, 400*10 minutes=4000 minutes, about 66.7 hours). Obviously you could be more or less lucky than that, but 2-3 weeks of farming soldiery is definitely not even close to 400 runs of leviathan. Even not doing expert roulette, 20 minute hard mode runs => 29*45=1305 soldiery for 580 minutes (about 10 hours), BUT you also need an unidentified allagan tomestone so that makes a big difference and is a big leveling factor. I have also only seen 1 mirror drop after about 50 runs. On the other hand, this will preserve the rarity, and is something to keep us busy.

I still think people are missing the key point on the low rng, its all about alternate ways of gearing up. If the rng of levi us defeating you, you could get your soldiery weapon in 3 weeks worth of tomes. If you can't do coil for the allagan stone, there is your atma, while a long grind, is a guaranteed drop. All three of these items are roughly close in stats

That's 400 runs if you're the 8th person. The average is around 225. Soldiery may be technically faster but you're capped weekly so you can't just hammer out 1300 tomes. You'll easily and comfortably do 225 Levis in 2 and a half weeks if you have it on farm and still cap soldiery and run Coil.

I believe its super rare for a reason given the amount of stuff you have to do to get a ilvl 100 relic.
