    You haven't played sky since its release have you? There is no claiming anymore. They are majorly force spaned from pop items. You cruise the open world, talk to people, meet new people, meet someone you've met before who caught a link and needs help. You make friends and do things with your FC that could be composed of 20+ people all in sky together chatting on the linkshell.

    This is what you do currently in this game: Get 8 people, que for dungeon, win or lose, rinse and repeat and usually its with randoms from other servers. There is no chance to make friends or socialize. There's no chance meeting, there's nothing.

    I don't really see the "story you only did once" thing you are talking about. You only do story once in all games. To add to that, you could even repeat the story in sky and get a different ring reward.

    I didn't start this thread for flaming or arguing. I started this thread to reach out to devs or somebody who could atleast give the people wanting open world content some hope.

    Open world content is one thing. You are asking to have teleports removed, which frankly I don't see happening ever. Even if they introduced NMs, you would still have the same teleport issue that you have a problem with.

    This is wrong. While it's harder to make friends in random dungeons, most times I ask the group which server they are on and if they are on my server, which is quite often, and then I add as friends after the instance.

    There's way more bot usage in XIV than XI currently, and I don't mean just RMT. The only "problem" was on ground kings between large linkshells which you didn't even have to do, here people use Bots even for FATEs. Also, don't confuse memorizing a pattern for skill if you're comparing both games - XIV takes "skill" in some encounters, but compared to other MMOs out there, XIV is way too scripted. Also "story once"? Yeah, then you have stuff like Divine Might and Apocalypse Nigh.

    Lots of people haven't touched XI since 2003 it sounds like, since people here state SMN's main issue is they're gimped healers and avatars cost too much when that haven't been a problem since 2004 at the latest.

    You must be pretty lucky then. Usually when I do an instance everyone's just in a hurry to leave and no one even talks probably cause they are myth grinding.

    There may be a slim chance for a meeting and friendship but its not even comparable to open world. You could make a friend by just tossing someone who needed help a cure or raise while enroute to anywhere.

    Where did I say I wanted teleports removed? Never
    Please don't tell me I am saying something when nothing in my post dictated that
    I would just like the OP have a zone that didn't have safe havens every few meters, and that you had an entire area to farm, explore that wasn't connected to a fate

    The casual open world is there. And there could, and should, be some harder content for people. Toss in some treasure map bosses balanced around high item level that aren't such a joke for example.

    But you can't have real serious content overworld. If they have extreme Ramuh walking around in the shroud it would be a absolute disaster.

    Sky didn't come till the first expansion.this world was rebuilt in 3 years remember that and give it time. Go play something else till then if your that bored.

    A lot of the overworld stuff will probably be in the expansion where the Devs will have fresh zones to populate with content. The current zones are probably as heavy as they want them to be right now especially in the zones with dailies. Thus the recycling FATEs for Atma. That was sort of my point with my previous comment about Sky being expansion (Zilart). Drastically new content requires a fresh canvas (new zone).
