    Why does Active Combat System get thrown away and yet Guidlleves get a second chance?

    Nobody liked "spamming actions" with the previous battle system, but equally, nobody liked doing the so called quests that are "levequests".

    So then why did the combat system get axed when guildleves didn't? Why are guidleves still presented as an important element of the game when active-combat was considered too spammy?

    (Psh, you don't know the meaning of spammy! I'll tell you what's spammy, spamming the same guildleves every reset, and killing the same mobs over and over!)

    To be fair, we should discard both systems.

    You might say there is still hope for a 'fun guildleve' (ha, as if such a thing exists!), but then couldn't you make the same case for a 'fun active combat system' too?

    So for the sake of consistency, we should throw both systems out the window and start anew.

    Or am I missing something?

    Is there some weird formula that allows SE to decide which system to scrap and which to keep even when met with resistance from the majority?

    Guildleve system is not flawed from the core- the combat system was (apparently).

    And you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out why.

    Either way, the community in their great wisdom voted for guildleves to be addressed last. So here we go.

    Before they can put in an adequate way of leveling they need to revise the battle system, and they're revising the system because a majority of people want it that way. Once the battle system is in and they can start working on the grinding mob aspect they might get rid of it if they ask the players if they still want them, but we will have leves for a while, though you can actually grind on mobs more efficiently with a group of 4 in Coerthas from 30-50. I honestly don't see why people feel that leves are the only way thus far.

    Guildleves have the perfect core required for a game where repeatable content is a must.

    They allow for the developers to control the pace of leveling, party set-ups and locations instead of having to guess what the playerbase might end up doing at any given time.

    They are not fleshed out and are not properly designed for repeatibility. If you can't think up one good way to easily fix both of these problems you really are hopeless. There's nothing easier than making guildleves fun at this point.

    But the community figured the primary leveling feature of the game is not important while an AH is absolutely necessary asap, so SE will take ages to get anywhere. Cool stuff.

    Actually I agree with Betelgeuzah. Leves are not fundamentally flawed like the combat system or other features the game has. They're just awfully, awfully under developed.
