Currently, yes. But! SE has already said that updating your relic is going to be something available in each patch so it would have to be done eventually. Personally, I think the Book should be something you can buy with the seals from your perspective GC. Have to have SOME kind of use for all those extrea seals...

I burned 50k seals on 20 bottles of Potash, and I still need another 25 more - this is not including however many Lime Sulphur/Coke/Animal Fat/Ventures I still need to get. I'd say GC seals are in a good spot now. At least, when I go Atma farming, I do it partially in mind for the seals.

Then don't do it. You have two other sources of i100 weapons and shields.

Basically this. You don't have to grind if you don't want to. Atma/animus is a poverty weapon for people that can't/don't do coil/ex. (Personally i'm doing both).

It's not about completing it in 1 day or 30 days, it's about the pointless grind just to prolong the gear progression.

There is more than one way to play the game, if you don't like atma farming then go with the other options. SE made sure to bring a fair and balanced method to each form of weapon item level aquisition.

With Atma for the most part it is both the easiest and hardest to obtain. While the first part is lucked based once you obtain the atma it is pretty much smooth sailing allowing one to obtain a i100 weapon.

With Levi it is also a grind, needing extreme fights done but requires less items overall to obtain an i100 weapon, if you prefer less of a grind and have 7 others to work with then go for this route

With the weather weapons, they take 3 weeks to obtain, which means you have to forgo obtaining armor if your focus is on that weapon, but you also have to go through coil to obtain the piece needed to gain the weapon. The advantage of this weapon however is it can be upgraded to i110

There are different playstyles for each player, it does no good to complain because one method doesn't fit your playstyle, if you don't like the weapon acquisition method look to the other ones and go from there.

Then of course there is technically a 4th method, a i100 weapon won't make or break you, you could always aim to spam 5th coil and obtain the i95 weapon, gain i100 gear across the board and be good to go.

I stopped doing the fates. Atma drop rates were bad, the fates were not fun. After around 10 days of no fun I started doing other things in the game and started having fun again. To hell with it I say, if I'm locked out on content, capped on times, or just bored I'll do the atma quest fates again. Unless something will change this is pretty much it for me.

Fates are fun, with fun people in your ventrilo/teamspeak/raidcall/etc. Just kick back have a laugh for a couple hours, then move on to more fun stuff.
