We need a response from Yoshi about the Atma quest.

Regardless of what side of the isle you fall on (liking or disliking the current Atma grind), we need a response from the game developers regarding this controversy. It's obvious people are incredibly upset looking at the forums, the in-game messages, and the drama being created over it.


We need to know where do they stand on this issue so hopefully people can begin to calm down.

• Are we to expect more Atma grind like quests in the future?

• Will SE make a compromise on the situation and make some tweaks to how Atma drops / grinds function?

This is important information for players who want to know the future of the game they're investing their time and money into.

That isn't the issue. The issue is relic is a progression related quest with each major content update. At some point people will have to go through this to reach the next progression of their Relic weapon.

Also, the argument "there is other content available" is a poor one especially with such a controversial subject. If you have to defend content by saying "just do something else", then you're effectively admitting this is type of quest line is no good. The question is, how does SE feel about it? Will they continue to use RNG and make other quests like it? This is telling and important information to help us understand the future of FFXIV.

The argument is not poor. Basing a game off of one piece of content is poor. There is plenty to do right now. Not to mention that this isn\\\\\\'t a unattainable achievement. You just have to do it if you want it.

"I don\\\\\\'t have the time QQ". If your playing less than 10hrs a week that\\\\\\'s fine. Spend 2 of those on atma and the other 8 on something else. You will get it done. It\\\\\\'s not that bad. Let\\\\\\'s all stop wanting to log in and win. Stop bothering yoshi and his team with your crybaby bull so they can focus on making more great content like leviathan, coil, all three of the new dungeons are great, the hildibrand quests and dare I say it... The relic line.

Yeah....I leveled to 50 to grind level 12 fates...

Considering the only thing you are guaranteed to get is a small chance of getting the atma, company seals and a bit of gil, I can't help but feel cheated out of the 30 hours I've spent so far with no atma to show for it. Getting a bit retarded now so I've given up and started leveling other classes.
Probably the most frustrating thing I've experienced in a game to date. I'd rather go through the pre-garuda storyline for 3 days straight than farm fates with 40 other people and get nothing from it.

Let me guess, you got all 12 of yours within 8 hours of grinding? I'm on hour 32 now (I haven't been concentrating on it really; I know some people who did this much grinding within the first 3-4 days) and I have 4/12 Atmas. I know of people who have been grinding longer than I have, who haven't gotten a single drop yet. This is what's bull, not the fact that people are complaining about it.

I'm thankful to SE for giving me a reason to get off my ass and fate grind again~ running a tiny FC(1 other person) and we went from the bottom of lvl 6 to 3/4 of the way through just from my atma farming.

If you didn't find a reason to FATE grind before now, obviously it wasn't important enough to you to spend time on. I wonder why that is? Maybe because FATEs are the most boring, lazy content design ever? I love all of these "Quit whining, it's fine because I got mine already with minimal effort" posts. I really do.
