Meh, I'm fine with the retainers for storage. I'd probably be willing to pay an extra $1/mo for another 110 storage space.

I would prefer having one spot that I can expand as opposed to hiring more and more retainers.

Especially now that it seems there is a limit to how many retainers can be in one zone.

Instead of two retainers, just make my retainer twice as big!

I liked the idea of the stands you could set up in the market wards, but they were implemented pretty poorly. I'd like to be able to set up a shop that I can expand to hold more inventory, etc, rather than have 2-3 retainers standing around dumbly.

I'd also like to be able to train my retainers in crafting, give them a bunch of materials, and have them set up a repair shop that charges material cost + 5% service fee.

I'd also also like to be able to set FFXII-style gambits on my retainers, like "Buy fire crystals until you have <X> number of them, pay up to <Y> gil per crystal" or "Spend <Z> amount on fire shards but do not pay more than <W> per shard."

I'd also also also like retainers to restock or be able to stack similar items in bazaar. If I have 20 identical swords to sell, I'd think my retainer should be able to replace the ones she sells with the ones still in her inventory.

I'd also also also also like retainers to be manageable via an NPC linkpearl; goodness knows we have enough of those.

I'd like any of these, or an "auction" house, before I'd like yet another retainer. The whole idea of a retainer is someone you hire to manage your stuff for you. What's the point if you gotta spend so much time managing them?
