Please please please do something about AFK cheaters in Duty Finder

It happened to me today and it's already making me tear my hair out, I waited 20 minutes to get into Duty Finder, and I get in and the monk in my group is afk. After 3 manning the first boss, I use my vote kick on him and he is replaced by another person.

Who is also AFK!!

So we vote kick that person, and he instantly rejoins our group, and continues to afk!

We are totally helpless and frustrated, and all three of us decide to report him for harassment and cheating, because we aren't sure which category it falls under(IMO, it's cheating)

He then returns while we are reporting him and taunts us, and starts trolling, saying its okay for him to do it.

This is really ruining the game for me. I primarily level up by running dungeons, but if this goes on, I can't see myself keeping my sub. This is really burning me out. It ruined my entire night that I was completely helpless to do anything, and wasted upwards of 40 minutes because I can't do anything about cheaters like this.

That is terrible! I cannot believe people want to waste other peoples time. What do they get out of this...bunch of suckas! These people and the CT trollers need to walk off the end of the earth and not come back...LOL

AFKs happen, commonly enough to be notable, whether malicious or not.

I have never seen someone repeatedly reenter a group they were kicked out of just to keep trying for a free lunch, though. This isn't common.

There likely is no code present atm for an instance to keep track of the people who have been vote kicked from the instance and prevent them from being able to reenter that instance, but there probably should be just to avoid cases like these.

I had that happen in CT. Vote kicked a tank just to have him get put right back into the party. You know damn well he queued back up in progress just to hopefully get back in and continue trolling.

Wow...I'm kind of astonished right now.

I recently came to this game from WoW, and their forums are absolutely toxic and disgusting. I was full well prepared to come check on this thread and see 5 pages of people making fun of me or defending the person I reported and calling me names.

But...people agreeing with me? Really, no sarcasm here, I think my heart just grew two sizes.

Thank you all for your replies, I got an answer from a game master an hour or two ago that identified what the player did as "griefing" and that it would be investigated and dealt with. Honestly I didn't think SE would do anything, but it looks like I was wrong. They may not have code in place to prevent it, but I'm at least happy they (seem too) act upon situations like this. I went the rest of tonight without any issues with any other players, even had a really good player help me learn some new boss fights I'd never done.

It feels so weird being in a community that isn't so hostile.

AFK on its own is not harassment, but if they start trolling you about it, then it becomes harassment and you can report them. Hopefully you won't meet up with too many people like that, though.

You're right about AFKing alone not being harassment. let's say I have a family emergency during a dungeon, I'm going to AFK no matter what (happened to me one time, ended up getting kicked. Too funny). Not Harassment

HOWEVER, intentional AFKing to get a free dungeon run may as well be viewed as harassment, as well as the scenario the OP mentioned, intentionally AFKing, getting booted and requeued for the same dungeon in progress to continue AFKing. They don't have to speak a word to troll you

Even when a player warns the party, people would still get kicked anyways, just like what I pointed above from one experience. It's the nature of people these days. You may get lucky and find people who'll respect you, but you can't expect everybody to be nice unfortunatly

What I'm saying though is that if someone goes AFK and you report them for harassment, they can argue that they had a legitimate reason. The only sure way to prove that the person went AFK to troll is if they keep digging themselves deeper in the hole by talking about it.

The worst is, they're probably not going completely afk. They're probably paying enough attention to the game to be able to roll on whatever loot drops.

In any event, the only thing that you can do is to keep kicking the individual. Eventually they'll get replaced by someone else in the queue. I'm actually surprised that a DPS player managed to get into the same dungeon party twice in a row. A tank isn't such a big surprise (they're somewhat rarer than the other roles, after all). But a dps is rather odd.
