Parser is necessary to kick people doing slow dps or the ones who don't know their rotation: they need to allow the tool or to make an official one.

hopefully you're trolling...
this is exactly why there will never be an official parser and why SE will never support parsers.
Slow DPS = Monster not dying fast enough, you noticing your DPS just auto attacking and not doing combos or is heavily undergeared nor know their rotations. That doesn't require a tool to see, your eyes and experience can show you.
If you see a BLM using only Ice based attacks like Blizzard > Blizzard 3/freeze etc, you didn't need a tool to know they're not doing anything worth anything lol. I get what you mean but some things are just "obvious" without a tool.
pretty sure they are referring to exploiting, not figuring out if you messed up your rotation.http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...5bd14ffec4345f
Using third-party programs, parsers, or other tools to conduct actions players would not normally be able to do in the game is a violation of the Terms of Service, and will be dealt with strict disciplinary action.
Yeah, I know. My first post in the thread pointed out that I realize it's a useful tool for individual players to gauge their own dps and tighten rotations.
But that doesn't mean I don't dislike them on principle.
Wasn't it already illegal, but you'd only get in trouble if you went around saying you were using it?
Well, one reason I've seen across games(Though I saw more people refusing to use them in Rift and WoW) is that some feel it breeds an elitist community that breaks everything down into "Who has bigger numbers". "Oh, you don't break 50k using your opener? You suck. KICK NOOB!"
This isn't exactly unfounded, either. Same cries came about with WoW when Gearscore became a thing. Yes, this kind of activity was already happening before, but now it was easier, and spreading. It's not like asking for a certain amount of DPS for a raid where there's a hard timer. It was kicking/refusing people because they didn't play to some random standard that a person felt was "perfect". It wasn't uncommon even in brand new content. Someone would run with their guildmates, get all their gear, run randoms, then yell at other players because they didn't have every bit of gear day 2 of the dungeon being out.
It's perfectly understandable to dislike something that could risk making a community toxic, or more toxic. It can ruin a game, especially MMOs which rely on a social, team-building aspect. It turns away new players when a once great game has broken down to "Numbers not amazing at 5? Worthless, quit" from people who only try to inflate THEIR numbers so they can keep up this self-set BS standard.
"Life is about love, last minutes and lost evenings, About fire in our bellies and furtive little feelings, And the aching amplitudes that set our needles all a-flickering, And help us with remembering that the only thing that's left to do is live. After all the loving and the losing, the heroes and the pioneers, The only thing that's left to do is get another round in at the bar." - I Knew Prufrock Before He Got Famous
I know, lot of people don't like it. But game setting is similar to all the post-WoW MMORPG now, FFXI is a dream we never meet anymore, sadly. You can't put two feet into a single shoe. We have rotations now and we cannot ignore them.
Wrong, it's obvious you never tried World of Warcraft the MMORPG Yoshi-P played to copy this setting, his words. If there's anything I'll never understand about XIV's playerbase, it's their illogical paranoia of parsers.
Parser (not official tool but allowed by Blizzard) is required in raid and people have really easy kick if you don't dps like a bat in the hell. Dps job on FFXIV is really too easy, people easily blame tanks and healers even when they don't deserve that.![]()
