Lets hope this one actually fixes the problem...

Since they didn't detail the maintenance note, it may not be for the lag issue specifically...
It's very seldom that I notice this lag myself, but when it does happen to me, it happens to everyone else in the same instance too...
Usually I just hear one or two persons with issues in the instance...

No you are doing it wrong, whenever SE nerf something they say it has been "adjusted", whenever they do something that is a positive thing then they tell you properly ie increase/decrease.

The maintance is probably just a preparation for the PS4 Beta and a "normal" maintance
but most likely not to solve (the) lag.

I doubt its going to be the only thing they fix, but its definitely the main reason.

The dev post yesterday explained that they've been adjusting the DF Servers on the fly rather than taking the game down for maintenance, so this one is most likely more for the two bugs posted above.
