Oh. Bah. Speculation, speculation.
And you know. Cid making some arrival in the cities and then turning out to be the leader of Ishgard would be totally amazing.
Albeit maybe a bit cliche. But still awesome.

Cid is likely either the Garlean Emperor or the head of the Garlond Ironworks. Ishdard ruler is also a possibility

It was once a great community, yes. But don't forget these are Forums. I don't like pushing someone out of our community. Of course not. Why would I want another player lost? Nobody wants that. However, when you throw out them's fightin' words like: "This game will never be good.", it makes people wonder why you bother to be a part of the community in the first place. I'm being serious. I'm not trying to be a jerk, though I'll admit my last post was less than acceptable on my part, and I'm sorry for that. For a community that was once held in high esteem for being such a great community, all but one of you are proving that the community here has suffered a fall from glory. Oh, and don't worry I just uninstalled and cancelled my service account so you don't have to worry about me pestering you guys anymore. Have fun waiting.
If you have such low hope in the game where you openly go out and say "This game will never be good", then why even stick around? ESPECIALLY right before the game updates are about to release? Wouldn't you rather tough it out and see what the update holds in store before stating that and abandoning ship?
Don't forget: Forums are a place for people to fester and troll and say whatever they want because they turn into keyboard warriors, no matter the amount of good people on them. In-game it's different. Here, you don't eventually need the help of others. You can act how you want to without repercussion. In-game, people are a bit more careful about how they treat others because in their server everyone holds a small portion of reputation. The Lodestone forums will never be able to amount to the good people I've met within' the actual game's walls.
Forums: 2/10
In-Game Community: 8/10
Just saying. Don't give up on the game simply because the forums are getting to you.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.
Even though Cid seems to be the most obvious reason for a new iconic NPC, there could be someone else, maybe someone new, maybe the face of our enemy? the one we will have to travel to different realities to beat? the one behind all these thats been happening since easter and the memory modification to poor jihli? Maybe well meet the npc's that were talking in secrecy wrapped in cloaks
If it turns out to be a bunch of Mammets, I'll kill something cute.

Speaking of Mammets, it's such an awesome FF thing to have character transitions from good to evil, big to small, and different designs completely. In XI, the Mammet battle was a hard, hard fight for the longest time, and your enemies weren't little cute machine things, either.
In this game, they're adorable and friendly!
Yeah, I definitely meant the Mammets from CoP 2.5. Though, at this point in the game, I would LOVE a challenge like they provided. Even seasoned veterans had the potential to lose that fight if stuff went wrong.Speaking of Mammets, it's such an awesome FF thing to have character transitions from good to evil, big to small, and different designs completely.
