People only do Thornmarch for vanity weapons. More than likely, the Paladin was there solely to obtain that weapon. It doesn't really matter that is wasn't an upgrade for him. He was there too and had just as much right as you. Also, if you beat Titan HM and wasn't on your Relic quest at the time, then you're really not playing efficiently at all. I mean, you do 150 runs of Thornmarch to get an ilvl 75 weapon and complain about missing out on an ilvl 80 shield when you could have had your Relic sword and shield by doing 5 fights....

Doesn't matter, look at it from the perspective of someone doing it for vanity, every time they get a group someone 'needs' it more then they do and think it's theirs by some sort of right, by that logic almost no time is good for vanity, and getting your FC to help you farm vanity makes less sense than pugging it, if anything doing it to gear up is an FC job. If it sits in their inventory then that's their choice, either way you don't know their reasons for getting it.

considering how easy the relic quest is, no one should "need" a moogle weapon. if you chose to do that instead of the relic quest, sorry but thats on you.

    1. Get Curtana and Holy Shield.
    2. Stop whining and begging to get better items through RNG drop when you clearly can complete the content.

On another note, you can't "heal" Damage Down debuff. You can esuna/leeche it off.

    1. Done
    2. There was never an intention to complain about the RNG itself, that's two people that missed the point.

Most Healers would know what it means, no one should have to specifically say to Esuna or Leech a status condition, it's obvious if you've been playing for more than a day in any game ever.

The only reason he's there in the first place is to get vanity gear.

If he didn't join, you may have gotten an undergeared tank who didn't know what he was doing or a troll just coming in to ruin your day. He contributed his part and maybe even more to your victory. This grants him equal rights to any loot that drops for his job.

I'm not sure why you expect other people to queue for trials and then pass on all loot that drops. There is nothing in it for him whatsoever. Sure, there may be people that join just to help others but you should consider that a bonus, not the norm.

Just keep going and hope you roll better next time.

I have both Warrior (main) and Paladin to 50, and both are currently iLvl88 and both of which I use regularly. I have been running Coil for weeks now and have still not had the luck of the Allagan Round Shield dropping on Turn 1 while on my Paladin.

So, at the weekend, a couple of us in our FC who are more experienced helped out a couple of Coil newbies. I was on my Monk, which is also iLvl88, and one of the guys helping was on his iLvl90 Paladin. The other Tank was one of the newbies on his Warrior (but also has Paladin at 50). Fight goes smoothly enough and we get to the end and the Allagan Shield drops. We both roll Greed and he wins it.

So, in your opinion, who deserves the Shield more? Me, who's been farming Turn 1 for weeks and weeks trying to get the Shield, or the newbie Tank who's obtained it on his first run? Exactly.

Your scenario with the Moogle Sword was perhaps very similar. That Paladin, for all you know, may have been on his 100th run of Thornmarch trying to obtain it (so what if it was for vanity). Just because people have different motives for requiring gear, doesn't mean the lesser-geared player should deserve it more.
