It's rare I see any glamour set that isn't entirely tacky.

Oh you combined the bikini top with a skirt and SMN AF feet. How sexy and original!

But it is what it is. I wasn't particularly in favour of a glamour system because I think part of earning your stripes in an MMO is looking ridiculous for the best stats. That way those of us who are less uber at the game can at least laugh at those who are (behind their back while they carry us through content).

Not that I'm particularly against it, either. But a toggle would keep most of the disasters off my screen, while those people get to see what they want to see.

The glamour system is already limited enough. It doesn't need any more limitations, tyvm.

Besides, I couldn't rightly rank these in order of "awfulness": a "tacky" glamour set, a reindeer tank (or anything similar), or a clone army wearing all the same pieces.

Just need to disable glamour in dungeons. Simple. SE will do it soon I believe. That's what they did to minions in instances.

Have 'Dispel Glamour' be a single target spell and have any character who casts it loudly announce "Wah wah, I'm a big miserable spoilsport."

If they had intentions of that, they probably already would. They disabled it for PvP from the beginning after all. Also, I believe there will be a backlash if they really go ahead and disable it in dungeons.

They could offer an option for people to disable glamour slots and only see what players are actually wearing.

This. I have already caught some people with gimp gear on that said it was vanity.
