No...because the whole point is the ability to increase your attack frequency.
To existing Mage jobs, no thanks... It's enough for a healer to keep everyone healed in some fights then you want to add the whining for haste when it wears off most likely in 30 seconds from all the melee/DPS? Now I could see it come in with a support/DPS job like rdm or maybe let smn have it. I for one would think it better to make light party 5 and full party 10 this way they could add a support job or two.
No it allows you to use your weaponskills more often does not affect auto attack.
And I don't know what your contribution to this is. There is no debate on managing TP. You have to do that with or without Skill Speed. The point is that it does not add anything compared to accuracy, determination and crit rate. I would like square to re look at this stat and make it viable so when we get a piece of gear with Skill Speed on it and think its junk. You can find lower level ilvl gear than current end game gear that weighs heavier because Skill Speed does not improve your characters. You can have 2 pieces of gear that are identical with Skill Speed and the other Piece has everything but Skill Speed and are roughly equivalent to performance. However you do that with a piece of gear with det or crit on it and too extent accuracy you have lowered that person dps output.
Stack skillspeed to attack faster! Oh but you'll go through TP faster too, so attack slower. Which, you know, completely negates the purpose of skillspeed to begin with.
Before you reply with a "but skillspeed will be great for the times you need it!" response, skillspeeds most beneficial times to have it is still overshadowed by crit/det builds in the same situation.
For skill speed to be an useful stat it also has to have some increased tp regeneration with it, otherwise its always going to be bad in longer fights.
Your understanding of simple math/physics is sorely lacking. TP regeneration is a constant. No matter how fast you attack, you will always have the same amount of total TP, which translates to puting out the same amount of total damage. If you eat 100 pieces of chocolate in 5 days vs. 100 pieces of chocolate in 1 day, does that mean you ate more chocolates? No, it simply means your chocolate/day (read: DPS) temporarily went up until your resources dried out, at which point your total is the same.
Skill speed's inherent issue is with TP regeneration. Until they do something about that, it will forever be a useless stat unless they introduce intentionally short fights where you need pure burst.
For the love of god, make skill speed stop sucking. PLEASE. The new stone gear for drg is SLATHERED in the shit, and it's just atrocious dps wise as a result.
I just want to be able to actually gain TP back as a WAR. /lonelycorner
Wish Icarus Wings could be crafted and used outside of PvP like in XI, that would be nice.
