I miss the "not giving up" attitude, Now if one person dies ppl are like, "wipe it and lets start over again"... i mean wtf we can still try and do it. The community. Party lving, chain number 320. The having skill over gear way to do things (i.e tank dies or healer and still find a way to kill the boss, Like kitting and nuking.). Music is a big one, The lost city of amdor brought nostalgia back. MPK, Zoning.... when the puller got more than 3 mobs. The FREAKING CS and story, ffxiv sucks at that. alot more alot more

I miss that time mattered. Things spawned at night, during certain moon phase and weather. Some shops was only open certain times or days.

I also miss that debuffs where awesome, dispels where needed.

I miss a lot more then that, but to tired atm to type them all out.

I only got to around 180. But I would have pretty much liked it if they had skipped that expansion, because it was during that they ruined ranged attack.

They ruined it during eye/taurus burns in CoP out in ule range ? =P (I was KC RNG so I cant really say my RNG was ever ruined gogo cannonshells)

I played XI for years, liked it a lot. I stopped playing it when it felt like everything was about grinding end game gear by defeating bosses over and over again, I enjoyed the travel to endgame more than being max level.

Maybe that's why I don't play XIV often, I am leveling another class and another char, just for the fun of playing something, but the road trip to max level isn't as cool as in XI (before Abyssea) sure was boring in some cases but I liked the feel of exploring the world. XIV doesn't have that as much, but it's nice to fit some shorts playtime to level alone and not just stand there for hours like in XI. I enjoy and hate things in both games, but commonly I don't like the over effort to do something once you reach max level

FFXI is still online..

So many people in FFXIV are unhappy because the game isn't FFXI 2.0. I loved FFXI and sometimes think about re-subbing. Then I remember how the entire MMO gaming genre has evolved since 2003 (FFXI NA launch -- literally 10 years ago) and I don't re-sub. Nostalgia has a funny way of covering up the glaring flaws in FFXI. Apples to apples, both games have their brown spots. However, both games have unique and amazing qualities as well.

Oddly enough I miss fishing from the Ferry and Pirates trying to kill me. =3

I miss when FFXIV didn't have many ex FFXI players.

I miss how bard was in ffxi. I loved the positioning, running back and forth between the melee's and the ranged people. There were a TON of songs. FFXIV on the other hand has like what 6 songs....

I had so much fun pulling mobs back to camp, while singing and backup healing. Bard was totally a support job. Tried bard in ffxiv and very rarely even sung my songs, its mainly a dps, not a full support job anymore

Sux how they dumbed down all the jobs in ffxiv. WHM, blm, ect are so limited on spells and abilities, compared to what we had in ffxi.

Also miss that 90% of the gear and stuff you got was tradable between players. FFXIV 90% of the gear is unique, untradeable Havn't even botherd to look at the market bord since I got to lvl 50, not even once.

FFXI also isn't FFXI as far as I'm concerned. These two arguments are repeated every day, sometimes multiple times.
