People like you who tunnel vision on just one part of the market are the ones who fail at making any sort of money. If you're unwilling to adapt to the market changes, well, QQ more, maybe someone will feel pity for you and hand over a few thousand gil.
I'm really confused here... half your argument is practically agreeing that crafters are screwed, the other half suddenly claims that you can make gil from all of that expense? Did you read your own post?

Prices on crafting materia have skyrocketed. That's bad for anyone who actually needs extra melds to get anywhere with the new recipes. The price of Philo matws has increased... materials which, I might add we crafters RELY on to actually get anywhere with most of the new recipes. So, exactly where are we supposed to make gil? The high-end of the crafting market has ALWAYS been the area where the gil is. Almost no one buys low level equipment, and the 'glamor' equips are all high end themselves, many of which requiring master recipe books and expensive ingredients.

Pre 2.2, the main selling point of crafts was the level 70 gear, and to a far lesser extent the lvl 55 weapons since they're a prerequisite for relic. Culinarian is the only real craft to make gil outside of rare philo mats. I make more gil selling the components for most recipes than I do on the final crafted piece in most cases. That's only been made worse with the number of NQ mats flooding the market as people sell them off cheaply after failing to craft HQ for their master books.

Maybe you've found some lucky niche, or you're just wealthy enough to shrug it all off but don't pretend like this doesn't have a knock-on effect for people who might not have had a billion gil to sink into their crafts to begin with.
