I'm against the whole concept of adding microtransaction sales for game features when we're already paying a subscription fee. Once we're paying for the game, we should be able to play the game, and that means the entire game, not bits and pieces. These sort of extra fees for individual items and features are something that belong in Free-to-Play games, not subscription ones. (And that's equally true regardless of whether they're advantages, conveniences, or purely cosmetic.)
The whole point of a subscription based game is that you pay a monthly (or quarterly, annual, whatever) fee and that covers everything, giving you access to the whole game. If the subscription isn't enough to cover that, then the sub costs need to be higher. We shouldn't ever have to choose which individual game features we're going to buy if we've already bought and subscribed to the game. Being able to avoid that sort of hassle is what the subscription costs are supposed to gain us over playing a microtransaction based F2P game.
