SE where you at?
SE where you at?
At the core of running a cash shop is to first establish an aspect that players consider 'uncomfortable' or 'desirable yet superficial' and offer to relieve the discomfort by presenting an item/mechanic that, while not necessary for gameplay, will alleviate that duress for a small fee.
Attitude is half the game. If you can't get over yourself, you're not at the top.
For the people not smart enough to realize this:
Entry subscription fee is $12.99 and has to be renewed every month with no option of purchasing more than 1 month at a time.
Standard subscription fee is $14.99 if you buy for 1 month, however if you purchase 3 months it is actually $13.99 per month. Buy for 6 months it is $12.99 per month which is the same price as the entry sub, just that you need to pay for 6 months worth at once instead of going by month per month.
If you are playing uninterupted for 6 months you can pay the same price of $12.99/mo regardless of standard or entry subscriptions. I feel this is why there isn't a huge stink over the extra characters per world advantage, and when you really think about it, it isn't an advantage since the extra characters per world is accessible for someone wanting to pay $14.99/mo and someone wanting to pay $12.99/mo, only difference is you need to buy 6 months of subscription at once which can't be considered P2W.
Ok so some of you are senior citizens living off of social security checks that can't really afford the $78 upfront, and really need to pay month by month. You have stated that players that pay that extra $2/mo or buy the 6 month subscriptions can farm multiple treasure maps on the same server!!!! Well, it's not like after they are done customizing their characters, that they can go instantly mine/harverst/fish for a map. They need to put in the time to raise their characters to get to that point, which does take a bit of work, and by all means it should. But at the same token, people can also buy another copy of the game and have that account in the same server and do the same thing! So where to draw the line...
For the arrogant posters, it's not about the actual $2/mo that people are actually complaining about. I'm pretty sure most of the people that are against it can afford it. It's the point that it is an element of P2W games that really shouldn't be in a P2P game. Me personally, I wouldn't mind it as much except that there are retainer ventures, 4 different types, and we only have 2 in game that comes with our subscriptions. No one here has played 2.2 yet, so we don't know how much of an impact having 2 more retainers available for ventures will be, but it does look to be a slight advantage for players that don't plan on paying an extra $4/mo for 2 additional retainers. Add to the fact that this can lead to more P2W features in the the future, and this adds up to a legitimate concern.
Pre 2.2 I feel the amount of inventory I have is just right, having everything leveled to 50. I put everything that is storable into my armory chest at the inn, both my retainers are pretty much full, my personal inventory I have the first 2 pages empty so I can craft all of my daily supply mission turn in items at once instead of going to the retainer for each craft, my 3rd page has all my food and potions, and my 4th page is all fishing lures/baits.
With the new vanity system coming, plus all the new crafting mats, pluse all the new equipment, I am not sure if I have enough current inventory space. I'm still undecided whether or not to get the extra retainers, but I know I am not pleased with being nickel'd and dime'd if I do get them. Just do us all a favor and release the fantasia potions in the mog station for us spend all our hard earned money on T__T

I already have... 6 retainers that I actively use on my account (3 active characters) I'm sorry but... No.
I'm perfectly fine with paying for another retainer or two. It's what they originally planned in 1.0. We originally had 1 free retainer then would have to pay for an additional one. Then the game went free and they let us have the additional retainer at that point for free, more as a please don't leave us/i'm sorry type of thing (imo)

No one will complain because anyone with a problem with stuff like that will pack up and move on to another game or form of entertainment. Stop tossing around the "slippery slope" argument as though what happens in this game has a serious impact on your real life, it makes you sound like a fear mongering political hack. People don't voluntarily participate in hobbies they don't enjoy, and unless your income depends on video games in some manner then they are still a hobby. If a feature comes along that makes you hate the game or the direction its being taken, then the simple solution is to stop paying and stop playing, you'll not have lost anything assuming you've enjoyed your time spent up until that point. This is why I don't get all riled up at stuff like this, if I don't really care about a system in place or a service being offered then I ignore it and I don't waste time worrying that X will lead to Y in the future where Y is something I will hate. I'm also always ready to eat my words upon fully exploring features and systems that I previously expressed apathy towards, if it turns out that Ventures provide some sort of game breaking imbalance and it isn't clear that SE would be willing to shore things up before the damage done is too great, then I'll pack up my troubles and exit stage left (right even). Though I wouldn't be posting anymore tn that occurrence I may still browse the forums, this place is like some vitriolic political environment without that pesky reality getting in the way."Precedent: An earlier event or action that is regarded as an example or guide to be considered in subsequent similar circumstances."
This issue = a bad precedent. The people defending it just don't get it. If they're willing to charge for bag space, then eventually, they'll charge for extra hair styles. And then special colored dyes. And then the ability to teleport to certain special locations. And then the ability to raise the weekly tome total past 450, etc. And if you're ok with this now, you have no right to complain later when they start nickle and diming you for everything you do.
Stop exploiting the game, please.I already have... 6 retainers that I actively use on my account (3 active characters) I'm sorry but... No.

PS3 limitations
Ok, no more Free Retainers, but no new Loot either...
This is stupid... If SE add new Items they HAVE to give us more space...
So, now I can use a Vanity System, but I can't store the Vanity Items I want?? Wll played SE, well played...
Player
I feel like this still needs to happen.
Or at least expedite a bait/catalyst/dye tab.
Actually there are other games that do it this way. People think it's nothing, but giving people more and more storage space costs them more and more money. Are you seriously suggesting that STORAGE SPACE should be veteran award? Wow.
In other games crafters would just sell bigger bags which players would equip, but in this game you can't use bags, probably due to some stupid excuses such as "limited server capacity for which we need more than your subscription money to maintain".
