-The base item and projected item are equippable by the same class or job.
Does this mean my Dragoon with my Moogle Fork can't use my lv50 Culinarian gear to look like a super fighting chef?
Thanks in advance!

Sadly, that's what it means. Lord only knows what ridiculous thought process SE went through to think that restricting their glamour system in such a way was a good thing.
I have a dumb question. Glamour Prisms can only be crafted...right? You buy the mats to make them from NPCs? I read the patch notes but I didn't really get it. :c
You will have to buy Clear prisms from the NPC to make Glamour prisms. Only lvl 50 crafters will be able to make them after buying glamour master recipe book. Each class will have their own book, except culinarians.
The process is simple: they want their players to accomodate aesthetically to whatever the Authors find acceptable in their fictional universe. The only way to achieve this is to force players into a certain set of options.
Basically, Squee doesn't want people on "ridicolous dresses". That's why they give their players reindeer suits, maid outfits and funny hats during events.
Oh, wait.

That's how it works. Crafters need a "Master Book" for each class that teaches the glamour prism recipe. Then you buy a crystal from an NPC (hopefully no more than 1k gil?) and some normal materials to make a Prism.
The first thing I'm gonna do is spam some prisms to play dress-up, because I'm casual filth.
It's important to note that you have to use the correct prism grade from the correct craft as well.
Are you sure? so not only will you need say a Prism level 20 to use a lvl 20 item, but it will have to be a Leatherworker prism if the base item is a Leather item? this sounds a lot more complicated than I initially suspected. Not a big deal for me since I have all crafts leveled and will be making a pile of each anyway for my FC, but still..
Pretty sure, considering this from the patch notes:Are you sure? so not only will you need say a Prism level 20 to use a lvl 20 item, but it will have to be a Leatherworker prism if the base item is a Leather item? this sounds a lot more complicated than I initially suspected. The required glamour prism will depend on the projected gear's item level and the crafting class that can repair it.
Thanks for the replies! +like for all of you.
