^ Exactly. It's dumb and arbitrary to be able to wear, say, headbands, goggles, but not Blacksmith's Goggles. And all of the all-class cloth armor out there tanks can glamour anyways.

Crafter AF, Gatherer AF and Job AF are like uniforms. It is specific to only 1 class/job and to no other.
If it is not, then we would see Blackmages in Whitemages AF. Or Weavers in Scholar AF. Or Botanists in Paladin AF.

That's exactly what I wanted! But with a giant fork, which is the dragoon moogle weapon! I don't mind not glamorizing weapons from other classes, but I would really like being able to put crafting gear on DoW/M. Lv50 Crafting armor has such awesome skins!

I imagine they wanted every craft to have a piece of the glamour prism market, so that's why it ended up so complicated.

While you can't glamour the relic armor for CUL on top of your DRG armor, you CAN glamour the Vintage Chef outfit set on to it. Not quite as good, but might give the appearance you're looking for.
