I think SE plan for summoners was to only release the original element summoners like Garuda, Ifrit, Titan, Leviathan, Ramuh and Shiva has an egi. Bcz as you can see Bahamut, Odin, Siren, moogle and Diablo are just bosses. I mean we may get some into HM/XM fight, but not as a SMN egi.

This brings to mind a question I've wondered for a long time...who worships Bahamut? There has to be a lot of worshippers for him to be so big and powerful that it took a Time Crash/Reality Breaking Paradox/Fling A Light Into the Future/whatever made him freeze in time just to stop him.

And it was the Allagans who captured him into the orbit for thousands of years until Nael van Darnus got the idea to use it to crash Eorzea.
Because the only way to get rid of a primal seem to be capture him into a strong cage or kill the ones who summon the primal always. Because a primal can't die.

Garuda is an EXTREMELY minor summon most notably, in your words, has an appearance in FFXI...why was she one here..hm? I mean "Minor summon" is your logic for it being a boss, Garuda should have only been a boss.

I think it's because there's like, no really consistent Wind-elemental summon in FF games. I mean aside from Garuda there is, off the top of my head, Pandemona (sp) and FF9's Fenrir. Out of a bird-lady, a purple tumor vacuum cleaner, and a wolf, bird-lady just makes the most sense to use for a wind-themed boss.

Diabolos is going to be a boss in the Lost City of Amdapor.

This means with 95% certainty he is not a primal.

This means we will not be able to summon a Diabolo-Egi.

Diabolos is a summon, not a trashy dungeon boss.

Give it a year and i think he will become a summon. And Siren to since in Final Fantasy games they are summons anyway. None of us know what SE have in mind to do with these 2 in year or so. So for now just watch and play and enjoy. SE might surprise you.

Amdapor is more than a dungeon, its the ruins of an ancient civilization, but most people in this game can't be bothered to care about the lore of the game they are playing. Amdapor keep/ruins gives us more clues about the umbral era during their time period. This is a civilization of people that misused/overused magic, and thus lead to an umbral era, diablos being a boss in something tied to this implies something much deeper for Amdapor, and more or less Eorzea now, they could of gotten so into various magics, and summoned Diablos, who still resides there now. It could be Ascian influence much like Good King Moggle Mog. So really,he's not a summon right now, but that does not mean "he wasn't summoned by someone" at some time! (Refer to smn 50 quest with Belias-egi). And that doesn't mean we won't see him again (I mean look at XI you fought diablos multiple times).
