The devs have already stated that there will be no more egis for the game unless they increase the level cap. This means no Leviathan-Egi, at least not right now, and no Diabolos-Egi, also at least not right now. Maybe in the future, if you're good, and do as they say, and buy what they want, and kiss their toes. Really though, as cool as everything is, like new tank jobs, and dps jobs, and healing jobs, and summons, plan on being disappointed when you don't get all that you want.

I would not want to see the awesomeness that is Diabolos belittled with a pathetic looking Egi, that probably wouldn't be used because Contagion is too important.

Unless of course he got a version of Contagion that worked with all DoTs from people in the party. Then Garuda would be unused, because Diabolos would wreck all.

I was sort of hoping something as dark and somewhat secret as diablos would have been put to better use than a 4 man.. HOWEVER i am extremely excited to fight this mofo tonight ♥♥

They seem to be shoving lesser know or used summons as dungeon bosses yeah, same thing with Siren. Next one will probably or hopefully be Doomtrain in Thanalan if they keep following the pattern of 1 new dungeon in a region and 2 HMs from previous dungeons in the other regions, could be something else like Quetzalcoatl though.

I think the only Primals (aside from elder primals like Bahamut, Midgarsomr, and Odin) are the ones that have a crystal element and loyal beastkin followers to their name in the game (Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, Ramuh, Shiva, Leviathan), so we wouldn't have gotten him as a summon anyway unless they start adding more. I think we'd get Ramuh and Shiva before we get a Diablos, Fenrir, or what have you in the future.

Maybe in the future Diablos will get a HM and EX, the Mamool Ja or Qirquin or something could worship him since they don't have a Primal god (well, that we know of, if they have one).

This brings to mind a question I've wondered for a long time...who worships Bahamut? There has to be a lot of worshippers for him to be so big and powerful that it took a Time Crash/Reality Breaking Paradox/Fling A Light Into the Future/whatever made him freeze in time just to stop him.
