It took ages between gathering enough HQ flax ( especially when your BTN is only 34 _-_ ) and then crafting em into HQ linen tights for the level 35 WVR leve in Coerthas...
I found the secret to leveling quite easy. Firstly, pick 1 leve that offers the easiest item to craft, those being items your crafting class can acquire on its own. Make a few of the item, don't bother with the ones requiring 3 items for multiple turn ins, as you'd be wasting mats and gil, aim for the single item single turn in one. Next, try to achieve HQ as best you can. Then just spam that 1 leve handing in the HQ's. I was gaining a level per 3-4 turn ins.

This way, you will level fairly quickly, and get back in gil, what you invest. Best way to achieve HQ items, is to make HQ mats, so don't use quick synthesis. Try making each yarn and cloth manually and try to achieve HQ on each individual one before attempting the leve item HQ. I hope this tip helps you out.

I figured this was your first crafting class to 50. Yes, it will take a lot longer to level your first few 50s than later ones (I've leveled ARM and BSM to 43/45 in...I'll guess its been about 10-20 hours so far, and most of its been macro-making ingots. But, I have everything else at 50, except CUL at 37, so I have all the cross class abilities to HQ almost all turn-ins even with NQ mats) since you won't have Byregot's Blessing or Steady Hand 2 to help you out, and likely don't know how to HQ well.

Don't spend the time gathering HQ mats. You don't have to HQ anything, technically, since NQ turn ins still are good enough (esp for the first class or three). Try to HQ everything for the extra xp, but if you can't, don't worry about it. Yes, it takes up to twice as many leves, but unless you intend to level crafters back to back you'll have more than enough to get one to 50 (maybe even 2 or 3 if you can't spend hours at a time doing this). Also grab Engineering Manuals to boost crafting XP, and make sure your gear is up to date.

Yeah with the little nerf single turn in ones can be better then triples. All the better if they are delivery ones. Also if you can afford the crystals some people afk quick synth to 50. Most mats are dirt cheap so click craft 100 come back in 15 mins click again. Also I am sure some people in your fc would help HQ some leve stuff. After a patches is been out for awhile there is generally someone saying they are bored.

On the OP hes from a server with over 2k players of each craft at 50. So the only people who will be paying are the people who are in a hurry on Balmung. Unless there is a limit to how many you can make per day like treasure maps there will not be a shortage. Unless they secretly take new tomes to make. that would be a little funny.

I'm certainly curious to see what the mats for prism's are.

So long as 'they' aren't ridiculous, I'll certainly be doing my part to make sure the Hyperion market isn't overpriced ^_^

Patch notes have the mats. Basically they are for like cloth:

    Grade (1-5) Clear Glass Prism
Undyed Velveteen Cloth (Depending on grade will dictate how many you need)
    Lightning Crystal
    Wind Crystal

I can't wait till I can't afford to glamour my gear. You know that vanity is supposed to cost an arm and leg right?

We really have to just understand that this is what the crafters want though. I mean they did level to 50 and deserve to make a huge amount from this. I mean we need to cater to their need to make fictitious money right?

Go level a craft to 50 yourself and you will not have to worry. I do not understand why you would complain about the price of an item when you make no effort to be a supplier. if you can just wait about two days, the price will plummet as crafters will be desperate to offload their backlog.

While we are at it, would we like to talk about the time required to acquire the necessary materials and shards? or do you just want a servant class of players to give you whatever you want for free?

Really? have you looked at your own armory profile? you have not even leveled all disciplines of war or magic. come back when you at least have "the eight" previously known as "getting the seven."

Ah, I missed that, thanks ^_^

Also, the mats needed vary depending on the type of Prism (Woodworking vs Weaver). It also shows x2 of the mat, regardless of grade: so two of the Cloth above. Pretty easy stuff, the Clear Glass Prism will really determine things I'd imagine, since we don't know how we can get it yet. Gathering, perhaps?

All in all, shouldn't be expensive to make!

I'm assuming since clear glass prisms aren't listed as new recipes, that they are gotten from crafting vendors or something. All I have to do is go and get myself crystals (I only got shards on me lol) and farm a few diremites for webs and I should be golden. But it's the new dress I really want, that is gonna be pretty expensive to make lol
