And we don't even know that Levi HM will drop the ilvl95 weapon, in fact I'm almost certain Levi EX drops it and then you can upgrade it to ilvl100 somehow.

More like your post is pointless, you should learn to read since I clearly said if people can beat Turns 6-9 with i95 weapons, they won't have to do relic upgrades and just jump to i115 weapons.

Except if those weapons are anything like the current Allagan weapons, they're crap. 1 more attack and stats that are pretty much equal to your relic, except the 2ndary is different? You're better off just getting the relic for most classes, as the stats on the relics are usually what you need (not so much for SCH, where it's spell speed instead of crit rate).

And your reply is just was worthless because you are making a wild assumption that "people" (please define) will be able to beat 6-9 with i95 weapons.

I would say roughly 95% of people beat Coil1-5 with i90 weapons, not i75 ones.

But when you think about it, healing is more about skills (reaction times) than gear. The very first T5 kill had an i70 healer in there. Since they buffed tank threats with last patch 2.1, I'm not sure how much they would need the new relic upgrades. Now when it comes to dps, they're the only ones that might need i110 relic upgrades over this i95 weapon. Though with rest of the gear at i100+, their optimum dps rotations might do the trick.

No matter how you spin this, i95 reward is still quite huge. New players will wreck 98% of the content with those. They could have made it i85 since the moogle king HM dropped i75 weapons. Lower than Titan HM. So going by the same path, i85 would be more suitable - lower than extreme primal weapon.

That's in the literal sense; the game will now allow you to throw those items away, instead of making you hold onto them and devote a slot in your inventory to holding them forever.

Can be discarded does not mean you SHOULD discard them.

As for the original post, i95 is 20 levels under the new best weapons. Get over it. It's for people to play catch up to those who will probably have beaten Turn 9 by the time they are able to beat Turn 5 for the first time. Welcome to the new Vertical Progression MMO style games where each patch obsoletes the last one. (And by new I mean WoW has been doing it for years).

It clearly says in the patch notes that you need a Relic Zenith weapon to start the Zodiac quest-line !

Doesn't matter though, cause Levi HM won't drop the ilvl95 weapon....

No where does it say Levi HM will drop an i95 weapon. People see two weapons on the list and automatically assume that HM will drop an i95.

You have to beat Ifrit ex to try levi ex. Why would they give you an i95 weapon from a hm primal b4 you even accomplished a task(Primal Focus) that would reward you an i90 weapon and the opportunity to challenge its extreme version. That makes no progressive sense.

If it is part of the story maybe no loot will drop? Seems to be the way it was for story mode Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda... and the other Main Scenario end game dungeons.
