I'm just gonna gather the mats and ask one of my FC mates to make em for me, problem solved :P

I'm just glad I have an awesome FC who will likely give me a fully hq set of ilvl90 gear within the first week. And all the mirage prisms I could ever want.
No more cast bars for Bard! Thank you, Yoshi-P! All hail our lord and savior!
To be honest, I'm excited for glamour, but I'm not really in a rush to use it. I don't need to have it on in a dungeon, half the time no one really looks that close at what you have on as much as they look at what stats you have. I can still wear my vanity gear without melding it onto my real gear until I get a craft high enough to make my own prisms or until they come down in price. Then I can shop around <3

Protip: Leveling crafts in this game are silly easy and fast. In many cases you could level a craft from 1 to 50 in the time it would take you to farm the gil necessary to buy a top tier HQ craft. In this you can even level semi-afk on crafts, there's really little excuse.
Crafters should be able to make money off things. That's the point of having a crafting job, unfortunately the markets are so stale now and they werent able to craft decent gear because Yoshi didnt want RMT abusing it that they cant do much of anything now. Having a way to make lots of money, without it actually affecting the game in any meaningful way is perfect. If you dont like it, lvl crafts yourself, or find a friend who can do it, supply the mats and tip them.
It's amazing how many people in this thread don't get basic economics.
If supply < demand prices go up.
Don't worry, the people who hate making profits will floor the profit on these items within 20 minutes like they did with PvP gear. So instead of going after glamours THE SECOND they come out, wait 20 minutes, it'll be like 1 - 40 gil in no time.
This doesn't exist in FFXIV - If there's a surplus of items, prices are floored. If there's low supply and high demand, prices are floored to "sell first".
Basic Economics =/= FFXIV economics.

One thing SE could do to help draw out the possible profits on these and the other masterwork recipes for a bit longer would be to limit the amount of books you can acquire via a daily quest system, so not everyone has access to all recipes on day 1. It wouldn't keep the prices up much longer I don't think, but it could help, but if they did this, it would just spark more debates about content lockouts and how it would be going against the armory system since you can't do everything on every class day 1.
