You've apparently didn't read the question at all or at least missed it's point ...
Nothing was officially announced but as Lemon8or has mentioned above - during the original PC / PS3 release SE gave players a brief - a couple of extra days (although not "several weeks") - grace period between the end of the early access and the time you;d need to enter the game activation code so there is a good chance they'll offer something simillar with PS4 release as well. If not, you'd need to wait and hope the game will arrive without too much delays. You don't need to worry about your characters - they will remain untouched.
