What did Black Mage & Summoner do to deserve this?

I'm willing to bet this isn't the new tomestone gear. I'm doubtful as it just doesn't fit with the other af2 gear, it's like a big joke. Seems more like a costume item. But we shall have to wait and see.

From what we've seen so far of all the costumes, none of the AF2 have appeared.

The one costume that did appear was the time mage look a like set, and the screenshot at the time didn't seem to have the word AF2 on it.

If the image in my OP isn't one of the Gerolt masterworks, what is the tomestone set, and why would they choose to omit it from the 2.2 promotion video? That doesn't make sense.

It looks as though each role (tank, physical DPS, magic DPS) will all share the same tomestone set.

The image in the OP is crafted gear. Its in the dancing video as black so its able to be dyed.



So it was shown in Redish Pink and Black. Artifact and Allagan armors aren't dye-able. Could be new Vanity Dungeon Gear as well, now that I think about it. Or it could be Gerolt's Master Works IF they allow those to be dyed.

To be fair, its only shown on Thaumaturge and Black Mage so its a safe assumption that its Black Mage vanity gear at best. Though I saw no books in any of the previews so I can't say that Summoner won't get access to it as well as Scholar getting access to the White Mage vanity gear. The Pug however, in the gif I posted looks as if its wearing something similar to what the Bard was wearing in one of the previews so that may be DoW DPS gear.

If memory serves, Allagan 2 armor is supposed to be dark red as well.
