Need adice on how to gain and hold enmity as a mrd

I have tanked before as a Paladin and gotten pretty decent with it, it takes alot to get aggro off of me but as a mrd who is lvl 19 atm, cannot for the life of me hold hate, I found myself too many times using provoke followed by an enmity generating skill to gain hate, I tried over power twice and flash once followed by heavy swing and skull sunder and I still lose aggro, so is there a better rotation I need to know for early lvl tanking?

It's basically start with an overpower, then heavy swing, skull sunder. butchers block I don't think u have at level 19, once u get it hate will be a piece of cake though, so maybe start with overpower. Heavy swing. Maim. Then heavy swing and skull sunder rotation.
As for multiple targets in dungeons I start with 3 times overpower then go through HS-maim,HS-SS rotation and alternate on all mobs

There's not really a point to having Flash as a WAR/MRD since it's not like you have the MP to use it more than 1-2 times per fight and it generates a crapton less than Overpower will.

As to what you need to do to maintain aggro pre-Butcher's Block, all you have to do is spam Overpower. Open up with 1-2 Overpowers, HS>Maim, and then Overpower a few more times. Overpower generates *way* more enmity than any other ability you've got up until you get BB: Overpower is 120 potency with a 5x enmity mod, for 600 ePot/use; HS doesn't have a mod and SS has an 3x mod, so HS>SS is a paltry 375 ePot/gcd. As such, you'll use Overpower to establish an enmity cushion and then use HS>SS for damage purposes afterwards.

I usually press 1,2,3 and 1,2,3 and it seems to work!

What I did on low lvls as marauder; tomahawk and mark the enemy to kill first, spammed overpower until my tp was at around 500, auto-attacked to get tp back while going through every enemy's aggro meters to see if I had to do few more overpowers(with 3-monster pulls I normally had to do one or two enmity combos to the last one so that healer didn't get aggro.)

I've started to level paladin few days ago, and imo it's harder to keep aggro at low levels than it was with marauder. Well, I still most of the times can keep it, but it needs alot more work.

Well, I'm curious of what skill you have at those numbers. Bevause at lvl 19 you only have the first two actions of your main-enmity-combo, to which it seems like you're referring to. And if you only do that I can't help but to wonder what happens to the other enemies at the pull, cause surely you can't do the main combo fast enough to be able to do it on every enemy at a pull before healer has to heal.

I've played as a GLD and a MRD, and both are pretty much exactly the same as far as gaining enmity. Both have a move for hitting multiple mobs, a ranged enmity move, and both have a 1-2-3 combo.

MRD: 1.) Heavy Swing 2.) Skull Sunder 3.) Butcher's Block AOE: Overpower Ranged: Tomahawk

GLD: 1.) Fast Blade 2.) Savage Blade 3.) Rage of Halone AOE: Flash Ranged: Shield Lob

Generally I follow the same routine in dungeons on both jobs, using what you have access to at the current level.

Pull the group with the ranged ability, throw about 2-3 AoE moves, than rotate your 1-2-3 combo(or 1-2 combo if too low for 3) while tabbing through the enemies your fighting, using them on the enemies that need them the most 1st, If you feel you need enmity on more than one mob at a certain time, throw out a random AoE.

One thing of importance I might mention. Make sure you are using Skull Sunder as as a combo with Heavy Swing, not just spamming it. You will net a lot more enmity with a combo'd Skull Sunder than you will with just Skull Sunder spam by a noticeable degree.

Using that strategy has gotten me through the lower levels of MRD just fine. Honestly the only reason I feel the the lower levels of GLD are easier to hold aggro than the lower levels of MRD is just because Flash is a lot more "user-friendly" since you can get anything around you with it, and Overpower you need to position them a bit more perfectly before you can use it efficiently.

Low level, like below 30? That's easy. Set every key on your hotbars to Overpower. Roll face in RIGHT TO LEFT motions (DIRECTION IS IMPORTANT!) and repeat until fight is over. Let TP refill, move onto next pull.

I love how we, as leaders of our respective FCs, are the cranky troll types.

    It doesn't matter what I put, it's always 1, 2, 3 followed by 1,2,3
