I bet you thought the rewards from maps would be worthless after a few weeks too. Yet there are still items worth over 500,000 gil on my server. So we already have evidence that these unique items could be very rare and valuable.

I'm just pointing out that no one knows what the drop rate for these unique items will be. You assume their value will be so low it won't matter. I think we've been shown the opposite is true already with maps.
