I look phenomenal in anything I wear, but that's not the point.
It looks really bizarre in this setting. And the fawning over it feels like people are more interested in playing dress up in whatever looks interesting more than they care about the aesthetic continuity of the world itself. I gave the primal gear a pass because whatever, it looks like it came from the enemy, sure. Allagan gear comes from an ancient era where everything was spiky and glowy. Weird but okay.
Tutu with a tophat, oversized ace card, and with fishnet stockings and possible tie.
Why and how?

If you're allowed to strawman other people's positions I'm allowed to say people who are against it feel like some really sad "my immersion!" types who want to tell others how to dress.
But these are just our opinions, and the only ones who actually get to say with authority what is and isn't kosher in this setting is the devs, who made these outfits.
I'm not telling you what you can or can't wear.
I'm just saying this modern Gothic Lolita dress feels totally out of place in this world.
My personally hate the design itself is an issue that doesn't matter to anyone but me.
You totally missed the point. I did exactly what you did to the opposing viewpoint except as an example, because I know everyone has different opinions and misrepresenting them is a total mistake.
Please elaborate.
All I've been talking about is artistic continuity. If I've misrepresented someone, please tell me plainly.
Thank you for the correction.
No way, that dress is more akin to visual kei than gothic lolita. Anyone caught wearing that getup to lolita meetup would be greeted by the sound of hissing and screaming cats.
(Still wearing it cause the outfit might look alright with the snowman head.)

Or better yet with the Pumpkin head kinda a cross between Jack Skellington and Alice in wonderland meets a Transvestite from Transylvania..
