Except, there is no site for FFXIV stating musketeer is a playable class in the game. We have the guild in the game, which can be seen as laying the groundwork, but it could just be a pointless npc guild. I seriously doubt it, but it's possible.

however you know that the cities were rebuilt right? So if you arent even close to adding musketeer why even put it in the game for launch? If they laid the groundwork building the game and just put it on the back burner they should say something.

because it's easier to use the already existing assets to rebuild a city than start from nothing.

From a dev post in 2012:

irrelevant. the guild building is already in the game, and there is a cutscene in 1.0 where you *almost* join the guild before they go NOPE and kick you out.
